A. Explain how you were able to use your existing knowledge and competencies from many subjects to succeed in your task.
All along the project, I used many concepts I had learned previously. For example, when I was searching for information to write my part, I used information from different sources and made sure to avoid information that came from wikipedia, concepts I had learned in different past projects, such as the essay on a historical character I did in third secondary. I also used the concept of documenting my sources I learned in first secondary when I had to make an oral presentation about opera. Furthermore, I used the method I learned in first secondary by making a video about intimidation to select wisely and put information in

Usually, when we talk about World War II, we talk about the situation of the Jews, so I learned a lot by doing this research. For example, I learned that the most “Aryan” girls were sent to special camps where they bred like animals with “Aryan” boys, that the young Germans enjoyed the power they had on their parents because they could report them to the Gestapo, etc. During this project, I also learned how to use some functions of Premiere Elements, like putting a soundtrack to a video. I learned how to use those functions by experience, by finding myself how to use them, and that’s the beauty of doing projects like these.

C. -Evaluate how this project helped you understand the importance of justice and equality in a society. (It can be constructive: what could have been improved to make you understand it better?)
This project didn’t help me very much understanding the importance of justice and equality in a society. It focused on the life of German people under the regime, and most people seemed to be happy with the way they lived. In other words, it didn’t focused enough on the impacts the regime had on the society, on the “openmindness”. It didn’t talk about the disadvantages that the lack of diversity in the people of the regime presented nor the consequences it could have in the

Night Essay To dehumanize is to deprive someone of compassion, civility, or individuality. During the Holocaust, the Nazis used dehumanization to belittle Jews to mere “things”; objects with no purpose other than to be a nuisance. The Nazis were brutal in their endeavor to wipe out the “insignificant and worthless” Jewish race, mainly forcing their despicable horrors upon the Jewish people in German concentration camps. Although the majority of the dehumanization of the Jews was in German concentration camps, there was also a great deal of injustice towards them long before ending up in those camps.…

The idea behind my project is to show how the aphorisms were always running through Morrie's mind. I drew a silhouette of Morrie and filled it with aphorisms that stood out to me. I did this to show that Morrie, himself, came up with these aphorisms, and not someone else. Morrie used the aphorisms to teach and get a point across in a way that is easy to understand. My project is another tool to help get Morrie's many messages read.…

Perhaps the most dreadful event in recent history is the tragedy that befell the world during the Holocaust. Throughout a twelve year period, the Nazis were able to wreak havoc and torture innocent people purely because of their “inferiority”. The Nazi ideology was rooted in the idea that the German race was superior to all, and this state of mind was behind all of the atrocities that took place in Germany and surrounding areas. While the majority of the worst travesties took place during the final years of the holocaust, there was a significant build-up to those events, which took place throughout the years from 1933 to 1938. During these years, the Nazis began to show their true intention to the world, and began their systematic persecution…

The term “degenerate” was coined during the Third Reich as a way to describe the physically, mentally, or socially unfit within Nazi Germany. The prime example of that comes to one’s mind is the exclusion and attempted extermination of the Jews during Hitler’s reign. Exclusion within Germany is not solely limited to members of the Jewish faith however. While it is true that the Jews were the most ostracized group during the Third Reich other so called “degenerates” such as the Sinti and Romas, homosexuals, physically and mentally handicapped were all persecuted alongside any other “asocial” Germans who did not conform to the new Nazi German Volk. In this paper I will delve into the ostracized groups and describe why they were persecuted and…

In mainstream culture, children tend to focus on school and recreation, while politics has often been a subject that is present in the conversations of adults. In Nazi Germany, however, the social and political ideologies of Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP) was entrenched in the lives of millions of German youth, evidently by design. In his autobiographical book, “Destined to Witness: Growing Up Black in Nazi Germany”, Hans J. Massaquoi provides a unique perspective to the typical prototype of a German youth. As a mixed-race, German boy growing up in one of the most politically-instilled cultures in modern history, he was neither accepted by the Nazi regime, nor persecuted to Nazi Germany’s fullest extent.…
