Have you ever stopped for a second to analyze your life? Many times when someone struggles, it is because of their outlook. Being negative about the obstacles that are faced in life is no way to get by. Taking a second to analyze, and possibly regroup, is never something that anyone should be ashamed of. I believe that with a positive outlook on life a person can do whatever they put their mind to. For the past few weeks, I have been going through an obstacle in life that has not been easy for me. I do not believe that anyone wants their whole life to change their senior year of high school, but it happened to me. I was living with my mother when all of this shenanigans happened. My mother and I have always been close. We tell each other everything. But towards the beginning of October, everything changed. I dreaded going home after school. When I would get in the house, it was like walking on eggshells. I took my sweet time going through that white door with scratches all across the midsection. Never did I know what kind of mood she was going to be in. Around this time was when I began to stop asking to go places with my friends, and I lost most of my social life. My experiences over the last six years living in NYC have shaped me into the approachable and compassionate person I am today. I have been immersed in a melting pot with many different culturally and economically diverse populations. These unique experiences have broadened my horizons and allowed me to gain valuable communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I searched out opportunities to give back and help the people in my community both in volunteering in hospitals, educating high school students, and interning in private practices. I even traveled with the organization Medlife, setting up a medical clinic to provide basic medical care and education to people in the poor and underserved communities surrounding Lima, Peru.…

Every Life Matters I really only started understanding the meaning of abortion once one of my mom’s friends had one. Before that I had very little knowledge about abortion. My parents have always taught me to stand by what I believe and that others may have different beliefs. They always told me that I would meet people that would disagree with me and what I believe not only when it came to these kind of topics but many other things as well. Being told that, they told me to always respect people’s beliefs and their points of view because everyone has the right to stand by what they believe, just like I do.…

Life is simply perspective. Some say that you have your whole life to do something, while others will argue that life is short and you should enjoy it to the full extent of it’s worth. You can look at something as exquisite, or atrocious. It doesn’t change what it is, but it changes your reaction to it. No matter how sure you are about the morality, someone else could view it differently.…

I know I am a workaholic and I am trying to get away from this I am learning to delegate and put my foot down, especially saying “No”. I know I have always felt satisfied when I kept doing more and endlessly tiring myself. I know I have been encouraged by my own self to be me, to be straight with people and with my own self; my own wants and feelings rather than crooked and covert. In this manner I am learning to understand what I want and possibly how to get it.…

In today's society the average person goes through high school, then repeats the cycle through college, gets their degree and goes out into the “real world”. They meet someone, have a family and move out to the suburbs. That is the path that most americans take throughout their long journey in life. Contradictory to that some of the wealthiest people took the risk of taking their own path and profited very well from it. “Have the courage to follow your own heart and intuition” (Steve Jobs).…

When I grow up, I want to change the world! Changing the world one day would make me feel really good. Three ways I would change the world are: make sure everyone has a shelter to live in; help more lost, sick, and hurt animals, and make sure no one is hungry. I would like to help homeless people have a nice place to stay. When I’m driving downtown I see a lot of homeless people on the streets; dirty, and sad.…

There are many lessons to be learned in life, lessons which are learned through conversations, mishaps, and great experiences. One experience I had was a little bit of all three. It was a conversation, started wrong, but nevertheless ended up being a great experience in which I learned an important lesson, that there are times to give up, and times to not give up, and sometimes even though giving up might seem like the right option, not giving up can lead to great success. My senior year of High school was hectic. Not only did I have the stress that comes from school work, I also started working too, to hopefully get some experience, and also, have some change in my pocket.…
