When applying this stage to the role of the nursing student it represents a fundamental step in complete acceptance to be fully engaged in being a nursing student. Acceptance of new ways of thinking and behaving are stepping stones to becoming a successful critically thinking student. Balancing employment, family and educational obligations is difficult and can be overwhelming causing contemplation of the notion to give up (Blais and Hayes (2011).
