They 're are the cons that it causes nuclear accidents, it is unknown what to do with the waste. Which causes huge conflicts, mostly due to the media, we only see the problems like Chernobyl and Fukushima. There is the downside of a high production cost not a high power production cost, but a high upfront cost to build the plant. There also the con of getting land to build and plant because you can 't put it near a high population or town without having a lot of scared people protesting, also they need to be near water to cool the reactor and they can 't build in certain states making it different to find a place to build a plant. One of the biggest cons is nuclear waste, that uranium half-lives are hundreds of years and they have to find to place to put the waste. This is because in a nuclear plant they use Uranium- 235. I don 't most cases believe in good and bad, but most problems I look at as a shade of gray. In Nuclear power case it can be dangerous if done wrong, but it also is very productive and useful, I do lean more toward caution but I don 't believe it is as dangerous as many think. The problem with these topics is we only hear about the problems or see the china syndromes, we don 't hear about the power made or the percent chance of a problem. So we don 't focus on the possible problems from nature and industry as much as human error, we are flawed and bias and prideful and mostly we are on average are uneducated on both sides. So we can 't make an informed opinion and have a good discussion. What I think is we need to work together to fix our nuclear plants not destroy them, we need to improve society not break it. I learned as a kid, I need to embrace my faults and weakness and learn to use them and that is what society and industry need to do to. Show the problems and learn from
