Reflective Essay On Molson's Poem

It was a Thursday night, the wind was cold and the air was brisk. Just like the great maple-crisped Canadian Molson I was drinking that night. I was walking along the dark gray pavement, my knees buckled as my head began to spin and I collapsed upon the ground. I knew I had a few too many to drink that night. I realized I was already in my cerebral palsy stage of the night (Wolf on Wall Street), stumbling from left to right, barely able to maintain my balance. I managed to some-how get back to my dorm that night. I immediately started to disrobe myself as I got back to my dorm. I looked into my mirror. What I say changed everything. It was if time froze and at that very point I reached an epiphany. I realized that the freshman fifteen had finally hit me. The dad-bod and I were one. Valeria Strass of the Washington Post released an article which stated, “more than 80 percent of college students dink alcohol.” Also, according to a National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) report, “approximately two out of every five college students of all ages – more than 40 percent – have reported engaging in binge drinking at least once during the past 2 weeks. (1)” Binge drinking is the consumption of an excessive amount of alcohol in a short period of time (2). This binge drinking is inevitably going to give you that dad-bod you’ve never wanted. The dad-bob is a metaphor for a dad’s body. The typical big belly that all middle-aged dads have. (5) Binge drinking is typically what the stereotypical party-goer college student commits to on their Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Thankfully, this nasty habit of binge-drinking and general alcohol consumption has negative attributes to your body, thankfully this can be combatted with a healthy diet and
