Major Exploration “As we lose ourselves in the service of others, we discover our own lives and our own happiness” –Dieter F. Udntdorf. I have always known I wanted to grow up and use my future career to help other people. While completing the Roadtrip Nation assignments, I learned a lot about myself. I learned I am passionate about helping others and working with children. I also really enjoy learning about other cultures. I have chosen to explore the majors of Secondary Education and Human Development and Family Studies because these majors appeal to my interest and I think I could have successful careers in each.
First, I chose to explore the major of secondary education because with that I can specialize in English and Spanish and then get certified to teach English as a second language. I believe I would enjoy specializing in these two subjects

I was surprised I could use teaching to combine most of my interests. The classes I would need to take to obtain a degree in secondary education interest me, and I think I would enjoy taking these classes. If I specialize in English and Spanish, I would need to take many classes within those areas. English has always been a strong subject for me. I can write papers rather quickly, and I like to learn grammar rules. Also, I have already taken English Composition I and English Composition II and made an A in both classes. Therefore, I have hope I could be successful in this concentration. I took two years of Spanish in high school with little difficulty. I like learning other languages and cultures of different countries. The classes I would need to take to acquire a degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English and Spanish seem like they would be very enjoyable, and I believe that since these are my favorite subject I would succeed in
