Personal Narrative: Coming Into International Security Threats

Improved Essays
Coming into International Security Threats? I did not know what to expect. Originally I decided to take the class because I figured it would be beneficial to me. Since I am going into the military I wanted to gain knowledge about the threats our nation is facing. Thinking this class would help me make a more rounded officer I hastily clicked to register for the class. My first day of the class threw me for a loop. Instead of talking about how to solve the issue of international security threats the class dove into a conversation about the purpose of the university. My mind was flooded with confusion. How was figuring out the purpose of the university going to solve our “crisis”. As the conversation continued my confusion began to subside and my interest was peaked.

To understand God’s mind was what Dr. Malici said was the purpose of the university. I remember him saying that coming to a university should not be about getting a degree. It should be about understanding every aspect of the universe. Once we are

Not only did it challenge my previous beliefs, but I also felt like it challenged me to become a better student and a better man. The concept of ex-ducre was something I had never heard of, but I wanted to learn more once I heard about it. That was what made this class different and almost attractive. It left me wanting more every time and leaving me with questions. Change can be a scary thing to deal with, but I think it is necessary for growth and I feel that it what this class did for me. It helped me grow by taking everything I have grown up with and putting it to the test. While some of my beliefs withstood the test of International Security Threats? Others crumbled. I feel more confident that I am a more well rounded student and individual. So thank you sir for challenging me to become a better version of myself and for setting me on a journey towards

I agree with your post. I also felt that with each state having a myriad of laws that aren’t necessarily congruent with other states, let alone the federal government, would make it difficult if not impossible to have a single court. Therefore, with the way our system is set up, it is a necessity to have a multi-tiered court. When looking at the downside, I hadn’t contemplated the fact of jurisdictional conflict.…

I initially took this course solely to fill my History requirement. However, after sitting in our first class last week, I learned things that I never knew. Maybe, because I am clueless on Military History or I have just never learned anything about it, especially history dating back to 1945. The things we learned, atomic bombing, demobilization, and Servicemen’s Readjustment Act are all things that everyone should know and I am thankful that I know these things now. I hope to accomplish what I accomplished last class, which is learning important information that we help me understand the history of our country’s military.…

So it started out as a normal school day and as we were coming back from lunch we all went to the restroom and only six of us got taken. As we were using the restroom Andrew Myers, Jahzara Mckinney, Kadance Gravely, Maddox Lyons, Hayden Elliott, Kaylie Hawks and myself were pulled into the sewers and through a pipe that somehow took us to a island. We were stranded there by ourselves the island was like a forest in a way it has tall redwood trees high grass like the jungle and a beautiful glossering pond. So as we were there we were all panicking then I just got really quiet. We went to bed and the next morning Hayden and Jahzara were fighting over food we had from killing Andrew we had a lot of food left over from yesterday but both Jahzara and Hayden wanted that same piece.…

When I grow up, I want to change the world! Changing the world one day would make me feel really good. Three ways I would change the world are: make sure everyone has a shelter to live in; help more lost, sick, and hurt animals, and make sure no one is hungry. I would like to help homeless people have a nice place to stay. When I’m driving downtown I see a lot of homeless people on the streets; dirty, and sad.…

To be a leader, I believe you need education, experience; common sense, and courage. In a democratic country, citizens are expected to participate actively in the regulation of the government. Constant support of the people and vigilance is needed for a democracy to function effectively.…

At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices. This is when I started my first strike involving my…

When most people think of a history class they imagine sitting in a dark lecture hall taking notes off a PowerPoint presentation, memorizing a few dates and people, repeating it on the test. Truly studying history, I learned, is more than memorization of a previously told story and accepting it as true. In this class I have learned history is about actively engaging the material, picking apart the details and nuances, creating and using timelines, finding deeper meaning in the material, asking questions, then looking again and digging deeper. It is not a passive study and not about memorization as I believed at the beginning of the semester. History is about asking questions and looking for answers, not just accepting what is already there, but…
