I come from a small town known as Miami. Maybe you have heard of it? It is pretty infamous for its severe snow storms. Not until I moved away from Miami could I actually appreciate it for its I-feel-like-I-am-dying-of-hyperthermia climate and its beautiful beaches. That being said, I love seasons. I have always wanted to see the colors change on the leaves, the snow twinkle down, and the flowers bloom. During the fall semester, I could not believe that leaves could be another color than green or brown. When I saw ice for the first time on the grass, someone could have easily convinced me that it was just misplaced sugar.
I plan on double majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience, because I thoroughly enjoy knowing how and why things work. I also enjoy reason, reasoning, and having a reason behind an action, and that is what science is! I believe everything you do should be meaningful which goes along nicely with the belief that everything happens

Stearns, I played a part in, analyzed, and wrote essays on Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Twelfth Night. Hamlet is my favorite Shakespeare play, because I love Shakespearean dramas, and I identify very strongly with Hamlet’s character. I too sometimes contemplate “to be, or not to be that is the question: whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them” (3.1.57-61). A quote that I have memorized. I also try to take his revelation to heart: “Rightly to be great is not to stir without great argument, but greatly to find quarrel in a straw when honor’s at the stake” (4.4.53-56). When I read Shakespeare, I find it easy to identify with the characters and their traits. I think everyone has fallen victim to similar temptations or sins as the characters, and everyone can learn a thing or two about life from reading his

For someone to be deemed insane, there are many things to be considered. For one, the person must have the “inability to distinguish fantasy from reality”, they also must be free from mental derangement; having a sound, healthy mind. The traditional test of insanity in criminal cases is whether the accused knows the difference between right and wrong following the “M’Naghten Rule” from 19th Century England. Hamlet is a sane man throughout the entirety of the play. It was his consistent cleverness that is the ultimate evidence of his complete sanity.…

Darkness lurks over the garden as towering trees cast their immense shadows onto the hard dirt. Pebbles scatter the terrain mimicking the large boulder on which a man lies weeping. Gaining composure, he stands to his feet. Hesitating for only a second, the man’s companion places a gentle kiss of death upon his cheek. Torches flicker past the nearest mountain peak as a mob marches in unison, swords in hand.…

Hamlet The question that is asked is do is think hamlet is relevant to today's modern life. I have to say it all depends on how you really look at the play it can be interpreted many different ways! The way I watched the play and understood it i could see a bunch of things the movie stood for and the true meaning but it's something you have to focus on its like a message in a song many people don't pay attention to the true meaning just the sound or the action that appears to be true but in every movie and every song there's a meaning or like a story line and the hamlet story line is a very interesting story to say the least.…

How do the plays of Shakespeare change when they are adapted for screen? Michael Almereyda’s adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet transposes one of Shakespeare’s most notable tragedy in modern day Manhattan, setting the framework for a modern retelling of the story. The use of “ complex array of media technologies, genres and practices” introduces the over arching theme of entrapment and imprisonment in the capitalist society thatHamlet resides in, immersing the narrative in a world of brand names, video technology and cameras. As such, Michael Almereyda updates the play for modern society, the era of media technology and digital communication. For any son, the death of one’s father will definitely have a huge impact on their life however it appears that for Hamlet rather than simple grief or remorse, Hamlet instead turns to madness. Hamlet’s psychological development can be analyzed during his soliloquy of Act 2, Scene ii where he decides to plot against Claudius to revenge his father as well as Act 3 Scene IV. After King Hamlet’s death and putting Hamlet in a situation of where he must pretend to be insane, Hamlet’s true sanity can be questioned through his decision making and through the analysis of his pleasure seeking id, his realistic ego, and his over-thinking superego from a psychoanalytical reading of the text. By taking a look through the psychoanalytical lens, it is apparent through Hamlet’s long soliloquy that the death of his father is very much taking a toll on his mind. Upon analyzing the mental state of the struggling prince, one can…

Madness is a state of mind where the person has no control of their thoughts, emotions, or actions due to trauma in their brain. This can be developed after a long period of living, or be inherited at the time of birth. In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Hamlet’s descent into madness has many effects in the play. However, his madness is only an antic disposition, used a tactic to distract characters from reality. This is proven through Hamlet’s actions, words, and plot development throughout the play.…

Hamlet 's indecision and continuous delay of Claudius 's murder until the end is explained through several concepts of psychology, delving into his innermost thoughts which act as the driving forces behind his behavior, actions, and attitude towards other characters. From a psychological perspective, Hamlet’s lack of action towards his intended goal is not surprising, especially from a person who shows many symptoms of major depressive disorder including inactivity, thoughts of suicide, frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, agitation, anxiety, and hopelessness. Despite being dead set on getting revenge for his father after he met 'his ghost ' in act 1 scene 4, Hamlet soon began contemplating suicide in his ‘to be or not to be’ soliloquy…
