Out of the three topics to write about for this essay, I decided to choose education, the reason choosing so would be because education is the process of sharing knowledge (and wisdom) to the new generations so we can further ourselves as a whole and continue our existence as a species on this planet. I will mostly write what I believe our system has faults with and how the system itself could be improved. While our current system is decent enough to function, it’s not reaching its full potential for being effective. The educational system we have now is the same one we used back in the 17th century, which during the time began using factories to mass produce. People can be confused to what is morally right or wrong, and those questions will stay with use unanswered for quite some time, for we do not fully understand morality itself, myself included. But the best we can do for now is to be the best we can be for ourselves and others. If we as individuals can be open minded, then maybe we can achieve the closest thing to world peace or a utopia. The younger generations do not have the discrimination like others had back then, this happened because those discriminated against urged and fought for a change to be treated with equality. And that has changed those around them to become open minded to new ideas and beliefs. If these types of teachings were more enforced then we have a greater chance to gain a form of enlightenment as a species. Technology has already advanced way far ahead of us, and it could be our demise if we do not advance ourselves along with it. This is why change needs to be implemented to a multitude of things. Instead of having school hours start early in the morning where students are more likely to fall asleep, it should be changed to when work hours actually begin, like say 9:00am. Also having shorter school hours in general could result in students more eager for learning and being less exhausted. The grading system should also be adjusted as well to the point where students don’t have to dread going to school just to believe they’ll fail because they learn at a different pace or in a different wave compared to the other students. Another thing could be an internship. While some jobs do have them, not all of them do. This is a problem for when students don’t know what they want to do for a career and become lost, or they thought they knew and it turned out that they didn’t like their career choice in general and then become lost and dissatisfied. For example, perhaps I want to become an actor but there’s no way for me to know if I’ll enjoy it or not. So I prepare to go into the acting business and things appear to be working, but halfway through I lose interest and want a career change. I can’t do anything because it takes years to prepare for a new career. There are many issues to resolve but if we start out small then we should be able to grow slowly one by one, and can continue in ways we never
