Reflective Essay: My Use Of Mla Bibliography

Decent Essays
Citations are a big problem for me. I did very poorly in citation for my last essay, because I had hard time to find the cited information from websites. I also made have a problem that reading to many material from websites and got confused where the sources come from. In addition, I also didn’t pay attention to the alphabetical order of the work cited page. However, I learn a lot from my mistakes. For the essay, I learn to use a website to help cite material from websites. I am familiar to cite material from books now. I carefully record the sources as I red. I think I did much better using Mla citation for this essay. The strongest of my research paper is that I have clear thesis and good organization, and good and detail supporting points.

During the writing of my analysis I learned that in MLA format your name and the page number should be included in the top corner. I learned that the page number and your name should be in the top right corner, and that the heading is on the left side. I think overall I did pretty well with the page citation and paraphrases. The page citation was pretty simple, but even though the paraphrases were more difficult I believe I still did pretty well with them. I don’t believe I had any problems with either, I think I understood them well.…

I had no idea what APA format was or how to cite properly. However, the APA citations links that my professor provided were very useful and helped me be successful with the rest of my essays. The videos guided me step by step and were very simple to understand other different type of formats such as MLA, and Chicago. Another resource that was very helpful, were the online class discussions. Online discussions not only helped me interact with my classmates, but helped me broaden my knowledge about the material.…

Activity One: Of all of the skills I gained from Rules for Writers, the ability to write a well-developed essay in MLA format is certainly the greatest tool I could have gotten. The essays I wrote in the MLA format in the past (though not very successful) helped me familiarize myself with the structure demanded from me in our essay about the Gap Year. However, without Rules for Writers I would have not gotten much complete. Launchpad was as helpful as any online guide in its explanation of course material, but like any online guide I found it extremely frustrating. Both resources outperformed the traditional classroom equivalent in being accessible on the go.…

Also, I did not include a works cited in the M4 images analysis exercise Tuscaloosa Tornado Images Analysis. Self reflection is the mental process that acquires knowledge and understanding through thoughts and experience which helps encourage self awareness. This essay focuses on assessing my objectives and how I have developed my skills from the beginning of this semester until now. At the start of semester A, I wasn’t confident in preparing for the skills sessions and workshops. I wasn 't always able to find the correct answers to the workshop questions set which made it relatively difficult for me to participate in lectures despite finding myself at the library every other day. I began by listening to knowledge based lectures online and making notes alongside the recommended reading given by my lecturers or the module guide.…
