My siblings and cousins all grew up admiring his ability to prevail through the many hardships he faced in his lifetime. His music gave us the motivation to stay strong through any obstacles as he often promoted the positive mentalities of not only racial equality, but also the love of all people without prejudice. His unconditional love and support of many different causes was unseen by anyone else in the music industry and my admiration for him was not transient and strongly remains to this day.
The persuasive essay affected me in different fashion; it allowed me to grow as a researcher and public speaker. In the past I was asked to write multiple lengthy research papers, and to give multiple lengthy presentations, however, I was never instructed to give a presentation on a paper I had written. For that reason, I was forced to deduce the most important information from my writing and convey its significance to the topic and its relevance to the audience and the rest of society. I overcame my fear of public speaking a little more by presenting on a topic I was passionate about and well-versed
