Reflective Essay: Military Experience

Decent Essays
When writing my Practice Essay in Week One I think I did a good job at the organization of my essay and considering my audience. I wrote about a military experience in my essay, which turned out to be more difficult than I expected because something’s are hard to explain to civilians. I considered my audience by changing the wording so a non military member could understand. Another way I considered my audience was by omitting certain topics completely because they were too difficult to explain.
One task I need to work on based on my experience writing my Practice Essay is being a better narrator. I find it very difficult to write what I’m thinking. Once I wrote my essay I was uncertain if my message was easily conveyed or not.

After my initial assessment of the unit, I have a good feel for the brigade’s primary issues and look forward to the challenges ahead. I have divided the problems identified into four primary lines of effort: Build the Team, Training, Leadership Development, and Fortify the Team. Concerns about veterans’ health Veterans potentially have psychological damages that are barely noticed by people in general, but it is indeed making those service people suffer. According to USDVA(United States Department of Veterans Affair), several factors affect veterans while they are serving, seriously from physically to mentally, terminologically called “stressors”, which Eli Saslow (2011) describes in how Doug’s wife Krissy, after reading the article about PTSD, is worried about her husband would be changed even though her sister-in-law claimed that his brother Dough’ is not some psychotic stranger from steroids’. No matter how veterans are accepted, there are invariably unperceivable changes when they come back home, environmentally,…

Even though they know someone who fought in a war, they themselves don’t fully understand what I went through on a daily basis.…

Everyone has read, at one point or another, the heart-wrenching tale of partners being separated by war and of the trials and tribulations of them persevering through such a trying time. It is a very well-known story because it is easy to imagine how one would feel without their significant other. Imagining this scenario from a child’s perspective, however, is not. Without being a military child, it is nearly impossible to imagine yourself in that situation, as it is so unique. The deployment of a military friend or family member can be difficult for anyone, but for no one more difficult than a child.…

At this moment, I am not sure what direction I am getting pulled and this is the reason I came to that conclusion. Just last week I learnt from the Regional Health Command-Atlantic (P) that I was deploying with the 86th CSH OSS, in March 2017. I then notified the office of my PCS move in May 2017, which RHCA (P) was not tracking. Early this week, I received another notification of my possible deployment with the 14th CSH to Kosovo in Oct 2016. I have been on a 60 days task…
