Almost once in a while, I have been chatting with Nelson about his life and about senior project, and he keeps on alerting me to start finding my mentor who is interested in my topic. Last year, Nelson’s senior project topic is also related to learning, and Mr. Wakeling was his mentor. This year, I also decided to find Mr. Wakeling as my mentor. Mr. Wakeling, who taught me Language Art when I was in grade eight, is definitely a responsible and experienced mentor for me. Not only does Mr. Wakeling taught me before, but he also knows something about learning. I kindly asked Mr. Wakeling to be my mentor, and he accepted my request. He once told me: “Having the right and healthy breakfast is essential to every student.” I am really glad that I chose the right mentor for my senior project, and he is my light, who will guide me throughout this difficult and challenging senior year. Not only does Mr. Wakeling who has been inspiring me and giving me lots of ideas about my topic, but also does Ms. Iris, the librarian, who has also providing me lots of online and book resources for me to read. I had my first appointment with Ms. Iris last week, and we talked about my experiment and what kind of resources should I find for my topic.
