Past experiences in my life put me in the receiving end of services. At the time, I was struggling with my own perception, and I didn’t want to consider myself a wounded helper. I felt that “wounded” was a depiction of my worth as an individual and my value as a future professional. During the last two years, I have come to see that past experiences do not disqualify me and can actually add to my professional ability. We each bring our own unique perspectives to this field that can be utilized to improve our performance. I believe there is value in understanding the different forces that draw us to this type of
