Reflective Essay Everything's An Argument

If I had to evaluate my performance, I would say that I feel I did extremely well. I always made sure I did every assignment and attended every class meeting. I feel that I put a great deal of effort outside of class as well. I did quite a bit of research outside of class and did my best on every assignment. I have learned so much this semester from taking this class I do not know where to begin. I learned about quotation sandwiches, naysayers, summarizing, and signal verbs all from the book They say I say, which I purchased at the beginning of the semester. I am so glad I did because it is filled with so much information as well as templates that I will use in the future. Another topic I learned about is how to use transitional words, such as therefore, furthermore, however, etc.. Furthermore, the book Everything’s an Argument, taught me about the different types of arguments, which includes causal arguments, arguments of definition, and fact just to name a few. I now have a better understanding of ethos, pathos, logos, and how to write a rhetorical analysis. What I found very helpful is learning about the words not to use, for example “you” should not be used, nor should you start a sentence with “this” and it is not appropriate to use conjunctions in an academic setting. In the book, The Things They Carried I learned about a very strange writing style where the author is the narrator and a
