Reflective Essay: Diversity In The Workplace

I believe that I will be successful in working, cooperating, and excelling with leaders, peers, and subordinates of different gender, color, ethnicity, and/or religion primarily due to my upbringing. From birth, diversity has surrounded me. With a Caucasian father and a Dominican mother, I have been indoctrinated into unique cultures and ways of life from an early age. The location in which I grew up, the New York Metropolitan Area, also significantly contributed to my ability to appreciate and cooperate with those who are different from me by allowing exposure to individuals from every country, ethnicity, religion, and walk of life, and instilled within me a deep respect and willingness to work with those who I may perceive to be different.
