It is said that every student has a college that specifically fits them and I see the Weinberg school of Arts and Science to be that college for me. I see this notion as an enzyme-substrate complex where I see myself as the substrate, which is the compound that forms the products, and the university as the enzyme that helps students in achieving their goals. The unique part of this complex is that only a particular enzyme can bind to a specific substrate. And I feel the same way with the university.…

I moved into my courage zone last summer when I signed up for the Football Team. However I stepped out of my courage zone when I started practicing with people that had more experience than me. I tried to stop getting nervous around my teammates and coaches at the beginning, which didn't work because I was shy.…

Currently, only one sport dominates the entire globe, from Latin America, to Europe, to Asia and Africa, and North America. This sport is known here in America as soccer, and it’s been the world’s leading sport for a very long time now. If anyone asks me, I would say it’s really not that fun to watch the world compete via the same sport. Soccer is praised internationally, however, other sports, such as baseball, basketball, and American football, are not given as much attention worldwide. And there are some nations who have never heard of those sports, those who were never exposed to athletics.…

In my college career which has been around 4 years now, these first two weeks are the first of any trimester or semester that instead of being enrolled in classes, I’m enrolled in an internship. This is definitely a change from the norm but at the same time it is exciting as well. It gives me the opportunity to use or observe some of the material that I have learned so far in my classes at Johnson & Wales in a real scenario. This internship allows me as well to gain much needed additional experience in the sports and athletics industry and will give me a more holistic view of the athletic program. It will allow me to see many different roles and see from various projects what parts of athletics I like or dislike since I am overall still open for the future to a variety of roles in the sports industry…

Nevertheless, watching sports were a part of my daily routine, as much as completing my homework and talking to my family. It was a daily necessity; I had to stay up to date on the stats and current news in the sports world. However, during my 72-hours abstaining from sports, I became aware that my consumption of sports no matter through what media source was constant and a little over obsessive.
