Reflective Essay: Crucial In The Medical Field

Improved Essays
I will be honest, I am not the best at writing papers, but I am hoping, by the end of the year, to strengthen my writing skills. Writing is crucial to the medical field because I will have to write reports and research papers. My writing is not perfect, and I want to be considered a well-spoken writer. I have had many experiences with written literacy, primarily with reading historical and classical books when I was in middle school, writing historical short stories, having my parents’ support, and doing poorly in English classes.
When I was younger, I loved to read books and write my own stories. I loved writing adventures of war or historical fiction. I wrote about five books, which were not truly books, but I still counted them. I read many books, like White Fang, The Hatchet, and countless others. I enjoyed reading novels, magazines, and even some textbooks.

English was the only subject that I did the worst in, especially writing papers, although I still made an A in the class. I will be honest, I do not like to write essays. They take a while and typically are boring. I wonder how many people actually like to write essays. I really wish they can teach me their motive. During my junior year of high school, I made one B and that was in English. I was truly disappointed in myself. It is quite funny that, my sophomore to senior year of high school, I had the same teacher, Ms. Widemon. She did not truly teach me how to write a paper, but she was extremely super harsh on grading. She was a former journalist. One thing she taught me was to try my absolute best and expect to get a little criticism. Now in everything I do, I expect criticism.
Over the years, I believe I have gotten better at writing. Yes, I have flaws, but they are not major flaws, well at least to me. I really hope I have increased my writing skills and better flow of writing. I know I am not the best writer, but I think I give great effort and has

Upon reading DiAngelo & Sensoy there were five main points of concern addressed within the article. These topics had concern on the basis that the students coming into this course may more or less be unprepared and unwilling to open their minds up to this new material. The first main point was about aiming for intellectual humility. The authors claimed that this meant the students are apprehensive about learning new material and challenging their current and developed beliefs. This main point makes a reference to an astronomy student conflicting with his teacher on the existence of Pluto.…

Learning to write When I attended elementary school, part of the curriculum was penmanship. There was a certain segment of instruction dedicated to penmanship rather than writing. We were given large sheets of oat colored paper with three parallel lines widely spaced. The alphabets were used to print and write in cursive using the midpoint, and upper lines for capital letters. The handwriting grades were based on neatness and readability.…

“I have to go here, dad. I just have to,” I told my father during our first tour of Colorado Mesa University’s campus. “I already feel like a Maverick,” I admitted as I straightened out my new CMU ball cap from the campus bookstore. It was a strange feeling knowing that I would no longer be Lakeland High School’s most spirited student, but there was excitement in knowing that I would soon show my pride for Colorado Mesa. Images of my blue and white spirit wear quickly changed to be maroon and gold.…

It wasn’t just my English classes for which I was required to write an essay, but also in almost all my classes, from Honors Biology to Honors Modern U.S History, from Sociology to Shakespeare--there were papers to write. In all of these classes for which I composed an essay, I always did my best and received a grade of at least a B+. The essays I wrote were not just an assignment; I also enjoyed writing them. I was able to get down on paper my knowledge about a certain subject or topic that I wasn’t able to communicate in class. In addition, I was able to contribute ideas so that my teachers could see that I understood the material, which was one of the things I liked best about writing essays.…

In my first semester of college, I have been exposed to so much and I have learned so much. Learning Basic Medical Science has allowed me to learn a variety of new things that I had never even heard of before or done before like immunohistochemistry, solving case studies, and T1/T2 translational research. Immunohistochemistry was really interesting and complex. At first, I overlooked it because I thought it was my over my head and not applicable to me at the moment. Then, over time I noticed that we talked about it several class periods, so clearly it had some significance to us currently.…

When they look back on experiences and memories, there is that one special spot that sticks out. When we think of our significant place we are easily to describe the feelings we grasped from past memories, and exactly what the place looked like. At first thought, our significant place is flawless, and we tend to forget the bad times and instead focus on the good.…
