Reflective Essay: Cover Letter In Chemistry Lab 1 a theme that stood out to me and impacted how I learned was the connection of the lab and the lecture. This theme specifically impacted my learning, since when we would cover a concept in the lab that I was unfamiliar with next time in lecture we would cover that concept. A specific example where we covered a concept in lab but had not covered in lecture was molecular geometry. Learning about this concept before going into more depth about it in lecture allowed me to connect with what I learned in the lab and what was being discussed in the lecture. By having covered it in both lecture and the lab allowed me to understand the concept better. Being in the lab and being able to do hands on experiments

Lab 2 Summary In this lab, the purpose was to understand how to use a DMM to measure different things like resistances, current, and voltages as well as how to successfully comprehend the electrostatic relationship between various objects. In the first part of our lab we learned how to use a Digital Multimeter by using a simulator to draw diagrams of circuits. This helped give us a basic understanding that when dealing with a circuit and tools like a DMM, you have to connect wires to certain places and make sure the positive is touching the positive side. In the second portion of the experiment, we learned how to use the equipment that will be used for the other labs.…

Goals are something that I have always thought about in my life. Whether it be graduating high school, passing a test, or going to college. Back then I had a lot of simple goals that were easy to accomplish, but now it’s time to start making those goals much bigger. My introduction paragraph was not up to the senior level writing. My writing simply didn’t make a clear path that allowed me to carry my ideas throughout the whole paper. The flow of each sentence was choppy and that made it difficult for anyone reading this paper get into the essay; therefore, I need to start including transitional words, phrase, or sentence so the reader and I can easily read my essay faster and with ease. Another thing that I would change is the thesis that I made.…

In the paper it was emphasized that the author needs to include their own experiences into the mix as well. From the three excerpts from essays that were included this fact was shown even more so than had they just told someone. It made me think that I needed to add more from my time in the meeting at the church into the essay than I originally had. Not only that but also that I need to give justice to the people I studied by giving them a voice in my writing as well. Hopefully because of “Thickening Your Draft” I will have the ability to adequately give voice to the people involved in my…

“I have to go here, dad. I just have to,” I told my father during our first tour of Colorado Mesa University’s campus. “I already feel like a Maverick,” I admitted as I straightened out my new CMU ball cap from the campus bookstore. It was a strange feeling knowing that I would no longer be Lakeland High School’s most spirited student, but there was excitement in knowing that I would soon show my pride for Colorado Mesa. Images of my blue and white spirit wear quickly changed to be maroon and gold.…

My mission in life is to utilize the knowledge granted to me to ameliorate the world around me. Santa Clara University’s vision for a better world through humane and sustainable means is very appealing to me in many aspects. Parallel to SCU, I would like to use my knowledge as a mechanical engineer to help others that do not have the benefit of my education, or simply the resources to strengthen their situation. I realized that this was a desire of mine on my first mission trip to Haiti. I observed a lack of technology that prohibited the advancement of a society, and was inspired to help.…

Writing an essay about my experience as a writer and how I feel when I write. I thought should be a breeze until, I received my grade back. It was not a horrible grade, nor what I was expecting. When reading the teacher’s comment “While you did write your response in several paragraphs, it isn 't fully a reflective essay. To be an essay, it must include an introduction paragraph that ends with a thesis/focus sentence, supporting body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph.”…

When I was young I was never the best at reading even though my parents owned many books and magazines that they read on a daily basis. My mother enjoyed reading her gossip magazines that she would receive in the mail once a month and my father had a whole bookshelf full of history books. My parents would always encourage me to read the books I would check out at the school library to improve my reading and writing but that advice usually went in through one ear and out the other. The only books I would really attempt to read had to be humorous or horrifying, my favorites were the Goosebumps collection. I loved reading these books alone in my room where I couldn’t be sidetracked by all the commotion that went on in my house.…
