While reading the article, the only thing I could really think of was that it was pointless and I didn’t agree with anything. The only part that I agreed with was when Korn said, “Employers complain that colleges are not producing graduates who can solve problems and connect the dots on complex issues.” Since this article was about people not being able to think critically, I interpreted it as colleges aren’t giving their students the experience they need to think critically in an emergency situation at work. While I finished the rest of the article, I then realized, why is it the colleges responsibility to help students gain that experience to help think critically? In my opinion, by the time someone gets to college, they should already have some type of experience working and they should already know how to act in an emergency situation. Also, by the time they are in their junior or senior year of college, they should be doing some type of volunteer work since one of the first things employers after college are going to ask will be, “what is your past experience?”

Since I started working at 15 years old, I have had almost three years of experience in different work fields from working at restaurants to technology companies meaning over these three years, I have came up with my own definition of critical thinking. For me, critical thinking is based on logic and knowing what to do in a n emergency situation.
