This semester of fall 2016, I took English 101. Before starting this class I must say I felt nervous and unsure about myself. The objection of this class is to learn how to write with a clear content, accurately and my writing skills need to show beyond college level. I had trouble in the past with my writing skills and grammar. However, I took the challenge and sign up for this class. I can honestly say I did okay. Even though my grades for my essays were really not bad, I still feel that insecurity that I could have done better or it’s just hard for me to give myself credit. Mr. Dutt, my instructor, has given us the right amount of homework. I felt it was a smooth process to achieve the assignments at my best. For example, we worked on our rough drafts in and we took the opportunity for Mr. Dutt go over it with us individually, he taught us how to express ourselves in the correct format that we are writing an essay and we read some essays that were very interested.
Working on my rough draft with enough time like we were given, helped me write down all my thoughts calmly. Once I was done I could proof read it to make sure if I need to fix or add something else. After I was done proof …show more content…
Some of the essays that we have worked on are summary and response essay, definition essay, cause and effect and argumentative essay. Mr. Dutt has taught us how to express ourselves in each of these essays and format for it. The one that I enjoyed a great deal is the argumentative essay. In the argumentative essay we argue if we agree or disagree with a topic we were given. However, he gave us an opportunity to change the topic if we wanted to, which I did. I am glad that he gave me this chance to evolve myself in this particular essay and that he would comment me that I had great context. A little praise helped me feel loose some of that insecurity I
