However, I could not see my life continuing on this path. Then, one day, I heard a presentation about a program called Genesys Works. I learned about how the program helps students in low income families prepare for college and find internships. The program focuses on three kinds of technical careers, which are Business/Accounting, Information Technology, and Engineering. The moment I heard about Business/Accounting, I knew that this program could take my life to a higher level if I were to earn an internship. I applied to the Genesys Works program, and hoped that they would be interested in me. They invited me to their first round of interviews to find out more about me. On the first round interview they were asking me if I can write an essay describing about myself and what I want to do in the future. Many thought popped into my mind that this might be impossible because I am not a good writer and my English was not good enough. My hands started to sweat and feel numb while thinking about what to write. So then, I wrote about myself hoped they will accept me. I hoped and waited for a couple weeks, until I heard that they sent letters to the students at my school. My heart was beating so fast while waited in line to see if there was a letter for me. Fortunately, the counselor handed me a letter and I yelled aloud with excitement. I felt like I was floating in a cloud where I knew that I could do something more with my future. I joined Genesys Works summer training as a Young Professional and have learned about technical career. At the end of the summer 2014 training program, I realized that I needed to improve my attitude, the way I live, and how I plan for my future. My experience taught me to remain patient and to never give up even if my English is not well enough. My hard work and patience paid
