I remember when I got my first essay back and my professor wrote on my paper sentence fragment. I said to my self sentence fragment had no idea what that meant. Before I would write sentences and to me it seem 'ed like they were ok and sounded ok as well. So learning how to use sentence structure help me make sure that a sentence will be fully understood and also be a complete sentences instead of a run on sentence as well. I learned how to go back and repair my sentence fragments, or else combine choppy statement into a compound sentence in order to improve my sentence structure. I have never been good with capitalization or punctuation. I never knew when I should use a comma, exclamation, or a semicolon in a sentence, never knew where they belong either. I always know after a period you would also start your next sentence with a capital letter. Commas has always been hard for me, but taking this course has help me understand how to use a comma. Commas are used in multiple uses, I learned how to separate two ideas in a sentence. It is also are used to separate multiple adjective that is describing the same thing. They also use to separate three or more comma sets off subordinate clauses that qualify main clauses. I learned to proper way to use a semicolon in a sentence.
