It was a cruise to the Caribbean’s islands which I had already paid for, but unfortunately I got sick the night before with a virus or food poisoning. Still unsure what may have caused it, but for me it truly sucked. They all come back tanned and with nice cigars too. The year went by so quick which is usually how you want the school year to go, but not when you’re the big dog on campus. You want to enjoy it and relish every last minute of your freedom from adult responsibilities. The time passed though and we got our caps and gowns and our tickets for our families. The gym was decorated with all the festive spirit you can possibly imagine, from pristine white chairs to balloons and ribbons. The day was upon us and it was time to complete our final mission that was to Graduate. All the things we had worked for and participated in for the last four years of high school had led up to this one moment in time that would never be repeated or recreated. I love how suits make me feel like someone important like an OO7 James Bond or a mafia boss. I put on the gown and thought okay this isn’t that bad and then I remembered the stupid cap. I do not know anyone who looks good in this cap, but then I put it on. I have to admit I looked pretty sharp for a guy in a gown and cap. I grabbed my phone, gum, and of course my aviators and headed out the door. Hunter drove me to school one last time. It’s weird that I didn’t think of it then, but it would be the last time we would drive to Neuse Charter School.
