Reflective Essay About Graduation Day

On June 5, 2015, I along with thirty three of my classmates graduated from Neuse Charter High School. We are a relatively small graduating class compared with other schools around us, but I believe that is what makes us all have a closer connection with one another. As many of my friends have now gone off to four year colleges I tend to feel left behind some days. I miss my friends sometimes and that is why I hold the memory of our Graduation day, along with our whole senior year so dear. Our whole senior year was a blast, starting with the very first day of the school year when we got a police escort to campus. It’s not very often that you get to chase the cop as it is usually the other way around. I remember riding with my friend Hunter …show more content…
It was a cruise to the Caribbean’s islands which I had already paid for, but unfortunately I got sick the night before with a virus or food poisoning. Still unsure what may have caused it, but for me it truly sucked. They all come back tanned and with nice cigars too. The year went by so quick which is usually how you want the school year to go, but not when you’re the big dog on campus. You want to enjoy it and relish every last minute of your freedom from adult responsibilities. The time passed though and we got our caps and gowns and our tickets for our families. The gym was decorated with all the festive spirit you can possibly imagine, from pristine white chairs to balloons and ribbons. The day was upon us and it was time to complete our final mission that was to Graduate. All the things we had worked for and participated in for the last four years of high school had led up to this one moment in time that would never be repeated or recreated. It’s kind of sad when I think about it now that it is gone, but in that moment it was a happy moment …show more content…
I love how suits make me feel like someone important like an OO7 James Bond or a mafia boss. I put on the gown and thought okay this isn’t that bad and then I remembered the stupid cap. I do not know anyone who looks good in this cap, but then I put it on. I have to admit I looked pretty sharp for a guy in a gown and cap. I grabbed my phone, gum, and of course my aviators and headed out the door. Hunter drove me to school one last time. It’s weird that I didn’t think of it then, but it would be the last time we would drive to Neuse Charter School. The appropriate song choice here would have been,” School’s out for Summer” although I do not recall what was playing on the radio that night. It’s funny how you remember only certain things about an event. Finally we arrived and it was show

Melanie, Violet, Summer, Mark, Travis, Justin and myself, America, have been friends since freshmen year at Guelph University in Guelph Ontario, Canada. Every year we promised each other that we’d go away for reading week, but as the years went on none of us had the time or energy or money to go anywhere, we all just wanted to stay local, and sleep in the comfort of our hometown, Guelph. As senior year was approaching and the thought of all of us going our separate ways, we decided that we’d go to Montreal for the week, the number one party city in Canada since the lifestyle is very easygoing and carefree especially among the young crowd. I wasn’t that much of a partier but I figured it would be a good way to de-stress and just enjoy being 23 without having my head stuffed into a book.…

Since the first day, time has been flying really fast. Starting a fresh new day, meeting the same teachers and same old friends, I still cannot imagine that I am now a senior! In my senior year, there will definitely be a lot of challenges and obstacles for me to conquer, but I believe that as long as I do everything step by step, I can beat down the difficulties in this senior year. When I was in junior year, I often heard last year’s seniors told me how hard is it to come up with a senior project topic, and they kept on reminding me to start thinking of my topic and finding my mentors. Luckily, I had research method class last year, so I knew how to do my APA style references and I had many presentations experiences last year.…

Freshman year of high school is scary for anyone, the enormous transition from being a top dog at middle school, back to an underclassman; wondering if your high school teachers will be as unforgiving as your 8th grade teacher’s descriptions, or even just that uncertainty that comes along with any major change. As a homeschooler entering school system for the first time, and having completely skipped 8th grade, it was terrifying. I had no idea what to expect, I worried about being behind the other students, or having missed something in my homeschooling curriculum, even interacting with other kids was all unfamiliar. It definitely didn’t help that, at 13, I was the youngest person in the building. Just two days into the school year, I discovered that P-AP world…

Our chaplain did a great job in leading the prayer service and it was just a great mass. The next day was graduation, graduation was very haunting. In the beginning of high school, I could not wait to graduate but as it became less of a big thing in the future and more of a realistic thing that was coming very quickly I did not want to graduate at all. It all hit me that day, it was over. The people that I spent the four best years of my life with would all be going their separate ways.…
