Excision Argumentative Essay

Imagine a place where hundreds of people go almost everyday to see a couple of people perform live and have a good time with all their friends. I went to The Rave and this is where that happens. On my birthday, February 4th, I went to Milwaukee Wisconsin to see Excision perform along with 12th Planet, Cookie Monsta, Dion Timmer, Bear Grillz and Barely Alive. Excision has always been one of my favorite music producers since I was around 12 years old. The music he produces is dubstep, not everyone likes this genre of music because it can be a bit profound to some but it’s pleasing to my ears and I enjoy it. All the performers that night played dubstep because that’s what the concert was all about. I was first introduced into dubstep by my older …show more content…
As soon as the curtains dropped and there you saw Jeff (Excision) standing on his platform with a screen behind him showing indescribable visuals the crowd got louder than the music. Everyone was dancing and head banging along to the music. I had chills and goosebumps and have never been so happy in my life. He played for a couple hours and it was one of the best experiences i’ve ever had in my entire life. I still remember everything exactly with much detail. Since I was a Excision fan before the concert and a fan of everyone else I knew most of the music all the Djs played. It didn’t make it any less fun though because most of the songs had twists to them and had different drops then the original song. We didn’t stay until the music stopped, we left a couple minutes early to beat the crowd out and the traffic. On the way home we listened to chillstep so our ears in pain from the loud music would be at ease. It was an experience I will never forget. Anyone into this type of music would’ve liked this experience 100% guaranteed. A place you can be yourself without being judged, a place where you can have so much fun with everyone around you and a place you would never forget with a experience of a lifetime engraved in your memories

Finally, I can say that experiencing this type of Jazz concert, where it is more of a casual, lounge atmosphere was very interesting due to the fact that the first Jazz concert I attended was in a more professional setting. It was a lot more obvious to me how Jazz does live in the moment, since the band actually did a whole improvised piece and was randomly deciding what they were going to play next. The connection between the band members was also very evident, they had a lot of eye contact and head signals. Last but not least, I am excited about the fact that this jazz session incorporated certain elements of Jazz that we have recently covered in class. For example, the train influence on music pieces.…

Summer Twins Review: A Dreamy Dance Party Kicking off Valentine’s Day weekend with great music is not a bad way to dive into the holiday, for couples and singles alike. This last Friday, February 12, Summer Twins performed at Acerogami, Pomona, CA, joined by Veronica Bianqui. The entire event had a drinks-with-friends vibe, framed by the venue’s exposed brick, low lighting, projected music videos, and a few heart-shaped balloons at the stage. The beauty of smaller venues is the level of comfort they create. Conversation before and after the show flowed easily, from excitement about the performers to stray cats and operatic voicemails.…

Winnit wanted to put up a statue to show his religion, but he put it right in front of another religious statue. Official take it down thus making Winnit mad, so he files a lawsuit demanding to put it back up. The District court ruled in favor of the officials saying that it wasn’t a violation of freedom of exercise of religion, and if the troll was kept would act as government speech, which is a violation of the First Amendment. The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals disagreed with both the District and eventually the Supreme Court. I have a dissenting opinion with the majority with the Supreme Court.…

Music is beautiful in many different ways. I may not listen to letlive. on a daily basis, but by the way the crowd was moving and how we were all emotionally involved, they could change lives with their music. We saw many bands that day, some of them being my favorites or soon to be favorites. I feel that you never get to actually get a band until you have seen them live, because once you see how they interact with their own music, you really get to see them for them, and understand why they're doing this.…

In the articles “Three Cheers for the Nanny State,” “Ban the Ban!,” and “Soda’s a Problem but…”, all three authors present their arguments with facts, opinions, and counterclaims. However, one article presents itself better than the rest. I believe that the article “Soda’s a Problem, but...” was the most convincing article. Sarah Conly- the author who wrote “Three Cheers for the Nanny State”- argues that the soda restriction is a good idea because people would be stopped from making foolish decisions that they’ll pretty definitely regret.…

If a mad scientist were to transplant half of my brain into someone else’s brainless body, and the other half of my brain into a second’s person’s brainless body, which person would I be? Would I be neither of them or would I be just one of them? Assuming that my personal “fission” could support all of my mental life, According to Parfit’s article Personal Identity, personal identity does not matter and that I would be the same person at first but afterwards both people will become different people. Parfit sketches a theme called, “reductionist” thesis that personal identity through time is constituted by relations between mental and physical events in the absence of anything like a necessarily determinate, indivisible soul. The second theme is given reductionism; some of our commonsensical beliefs about rationality and morality need to be revised.…
