Culture the meaning of the way of life of a group of people. Their behaviors, beliefs, values, symbols, art, music, celebration and acceptance. (Merriam) However, this is just a basic understanding of the word culture. A culture is about a group of people and the way they live in society how they see art and what they believe in. Also, the location of the society where they are located and their surrounding played a role in their culture. What they have to work with and what they are needing to survive. There are many different cultures out there and each one is special and unique. After taking this class, it has taught just how each culture views are different and show the beauty in it all cultures. Also gives an understanding of the past

Depending on who they were worshipping also depended on the temple they would built and the statue. Also the literature started out as an oral tradition passed down to generation and then in writing. Some would say that literature is also a form of art. Like a written expression of their life and beliefs. Greeks believed that the gods invented dancing. (Page 68, chapter two) Only selected people were about to dance and were given this gift by the gods. So they would be the ones to dance during rituals. The dance, architecture, and writing are go back to the culture belief in gods and goddess. Then there is the Hellenistic age, where the Athenians showed them beliefs and struggles through their art. “Their classic art style and cultural perspective is based on principles associated with the art and thought of ancient Greece and Rome.” (Page 85, chapter three) Some of the painting were reflects some characteristics of earlier work. Now we have the freedom to choose our religion and who we marry. We have the right to choose what we do with our life and that in general changing the way people make art as well as views it. Personally, art is something that should be admire for what it is. We are all different and have different experiences so art should be admired with an open mind. The way I was taught was to accept people for who they are and what they do. For that rather its art or acting, comedy or any other type of from of art.
