Mrs. Phillips Impact On Education

"You can and you will go to college and I will help you make it happen." These words were spoke to me by my high school business teacher, Edward Betts. Mr. Bett 's was the most blunt, snarky, funniest, and outspoken man you would have ever met. He wasn 't just these things though, he was also the most helpful, caring, hardworking, and driven man I have ever met. He was one of the two teachers that have ever made an impact on my education from kindergarten to my senior year. The other teacher that made an impact on my education, was Mrs. Phillips. Mrs. Phillips was my kindergarten teacher and even though I was so young, we were so close. We stayed close up until I was a junior in high school. Both of these inspirational people, to me personally …show more content…
Phillips wasn 't the ordinary kindergarten teacher that taught me my ABC 's and 123 's. She was much more than that. I once had the flu, two different strands at once, and was out of school for two weeks. Mrs. Phillips came to my house twice a week and gave me my work and made sure I was okay. After I graduated from kindergarten and moved on to first grade, because of everything she had done for me, my family and I stayed in touch and I always spent eating my home-made, sometimes even by her, lunch down in her room. Once, I moved on to middle school and high school, we still kept in touch, just not as much. My sophomore year was the year that I found out Mrs. Phillips had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. After finding out, we spoke often and started keeping in touch more because you never know when you can loose a loved …show more content…
143) This quote from the narrative, Indian Education, describes to a tee, exactly how my decision felt. With the help of everyone including my family and friends, I made the best decision.
I will forever be grateful for everything Mrs. Phillips and Mr. Betts done for me. At the end of my senior year, Mr. Bett 's had also passed away. It was also very sudden just like Mrs. Phillips, but I will never forget neither of them or what they both done for me. I honestly can say that I don 't know if I would have figured it all out without their guidance through everything. I 'm extremely glad that I get to say that both of these people were a huge impact on my education. They both pushed me to the best person I could be and they pushed me to every extreme I needed to take to get where I am
