Through my teaching experience, I have taken on leadership positions by assuming the responsibilities as an interim principal, head track and field coach, head volleyball coach and basketball. Outside of coaching, I acted as a coordinator within the Coordinated School Health program and a recruiter for the charter school. I’ve always aspired to effect change on a larger more impactful platform. Tennessee State University provided me with a full athletic scholarship in track field and a Bachelors degree. I pursued a teaching certification and Master’s degree to develop and strengthen my professional expertise. Now I will impact school districts and communities by writing physical education and health curriculums and teaching at the collegiate level. …show more content…
The activities require the students to expand their knowledge of the activity, develop new skills, and utilize innovative techniques while enjoying physical fitness. My expectation is to contribute the same initiative to the USC program by creating innovative programs, challenge critical thinking and inspire my colleagues to apply all that is learned to real life experiences. My aspiration is to share these experiences with the community at the University of Southern California.
