I learned to believe that if you believe that you can do something and work toward it you can do it. I learned this during my freshman year in marching band when I switch from tuba to front ensemble. Although it was hard to do and took a lot of work but was worth it in the end.
At the end of eighth grade I had a huge decision on whether to stick with the tuba or do what I want and join the front ensemble (pit). I had some experience with mallet instruments so it sparked my interest. I’ve always wanted to to play percussion but I was encouraged not to switch by my band teacher so I stayed. Of course I had doubts and even some people doubting me so, when I signed up for pit I was extremely nervous. Luckily I had three friends also members
