Families in an intensive care unit can be very challenging to manage while caring for a critically ill patient. Recently I had the pleasure of caring for a an elderly man whose bride of sixty years would not leave his bedside. She would utilize the call bell every ten minutes and had numerous questions at every encounter. She would come to the nurses station with questions and complaints and grab anyone walking in the hall with questions and issues. This woman would be hostile, rude and a challenge to manage with her problem behavior’s worsening and interfering with patient care as well as other patients care. Esthetic knowledge is broad understanding of situations based on experience, knowledge and past experience which is essential
