I have previously worked at the John Grant School for children with complex needs. Here I worked either on a 1:1 basis or in a classroom. An example of this is I worked on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with Cerebral Palsy who was unable to join in active group activities due to his physical restrictions. I would tailor the activity to enable him to join in whilst taking into account any needs or requirements so he wasn’t left out.
I am very aware of Health and Safety, an example of this is that I always report to my line manager any potential hazards such as I discovered the children were throwing logs that were on the playground and hurting each other. I reported this and they were removed.
