Either in a more professional manner, or considered at a higher level of intelligence than my previous way of doing it. A perfect example is the art of arguing. I have never taken debate or writing as classes before, so much of the topics covered in this section of our course were completely new to me. Now I knew the basics such as, arguments have to be true and logical or they will fall apart but I never knew that there was such as base to build upon after deciding which side to debate for. Another example was how a paper should be formatted, I’m not talking about APA style format, although that did help a great deal in another course I am enrolled in, but more along the lines of how to get your point across and persuade your reader to your side through the best use of sentence and paragraph placement throughout your paper. It’s much deeper than Intro, Body, Conclusion but that is just the basics that I had learned as a child and with no continuing education into my adult life I was surprised at how complex any paper can be, especially if it is to be effectively persuasive or professional in nature. I feel that I can put together a solid argument or persuasive essay, I can write at a higher level and with more knowledge hopefully encouraging my reader or future employer to acknowledge my level of intelligence, and feel as though I will be able to continue on to more demanding courses that will require more from me. I will always want to improve my time management skills as well as being able to format my thoughts from mind to paper but I did very well in this class and hope to only improve from here on out. From an apprehensive and nervous first time student, to confident and motivated to continue my college education, WRTG 101 and Ms. Branch were both a great platform to launch
