A Narrative Essay About God Research Paper

God works in mysterious ways. Many people think that God works through miracles in order to prove himself to others. I discovered, though, that sometimes God uses everyday activities to help us grow and learn how to interact to spread his word and truth. I had always participated in sports throughout my childhood and I was really comfortable in game situations, but I never thought that sports could help me get to know myself or witness to others. Until my friends had coaxed me into going on a Workcamp mission trip, I was a very introverted person, in a sense. Unless a person was my friend, I wanted nothing to do with them. That trip turned out to change my personality in a way I never saw coming and how I interact with strangers. One event …show more content…
The leader of the Workcamp mission trip told us that on the upcoming Wednesday of the week, we would get half the day off and that a marshmallow dodgeball tournament would take place. As the week progressed, the anticipation built and the cafeteria and lounge areas buzzed with talk of who would be on what team. The sounds of people talking and planning was a constant reminder of what was to come. My youth group had quickly established a reputation for being one of the more rowdy and cocky groups, so we talked a little playful smack, and told teams that we were going to win easily and that Venture, which was the name of my group, would dominate. On Wednesday, everyone got up and traveled to their worksites, with the thought in the back of their mind that in a few hours, they would get a very welcomed break from the hard work in the hot, humid Georgia weather. Later that afternoon, at about 4:00 p.m., the MC got on the intercom and announced that the tournament started out on the football field in 30 minutes. People were ecstatic. Campers and leaders who signed up to participate, rushed to their rooms to get matching outfits and even some ridiculous …show more content…
AJ had his team bombard my side as soon as they controlled enough marshmallows, but they never hit me and I attempted to throw at them, but it was clearly easier to dodge one marshmallow than four or five. I was fatigued and sluggish. The heat burned my skin and the sweat seemed to boil as it slowly ran down my arms and legs. My cotton shirt began stinging my back, like a swarm of bees. I could barely see because of the turf and sweat that stuck in my eye. Then, Cody, ran towards the line to grab ammunition and I used to opportunity to move from my corner and rush towards him. He threw at me and it hit me in the head. Well, in every other dodgeball game, a headshot means that the person who threw the ball was out, I thought. Neither of us were sure if I was out because the girl had not stated anything about headshots at the beginning. “That’s an out!” screamed Cody and I hollered back, “Have you ever even played dodgeball before, pup? You’re out!” Mike, the MC, came over and asked both of us what happened and he replied in a soothing tone as he tried to calm us down, “I think that both of you can stay in the game this time.” Immediately after he said that I nailed Cody in the chest and said, “That’s an out though, right?” I had the biggest smile on my face as Cody stormed away. His face turned bright red and his fists clenched so hard that he could have bent

I promptly responded, Suddenly I realized that all my pages and pages regarding the evils of Satan were virtually lacking of what ‘I really wanted to relate;’ by my words I realized my “true desire” transpired as being deliberately vague. This factual bombshell exploded within my being, along with the amazing issue of how unnerved I had become. Unlike the bold encounter I previously mentioned with my Aunt Lucy May regarding this subject, I found the experience of conversing with an unfamiliar man concerning my Godly sexual beliefs, distressed me as much as if Billy Graham was rummaging through my panty drawer needing answers about my “unmentionables.”…

Southeastern University Entrance Essay 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 says, "Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me, But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. " Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." Growing up, I never questioned the existence of God because church was all I knew. My older sister and I spent countless hours with my grandmother at church helping in any way that we knew how and we never missed a service; in those services I heard testimonies of so many men and women who knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that no one other than God moved in a miraculous way in their lives and I just knew he had to be real. Not until I…

My Story Inside God’s Story #2 Psalm 103:19 reads, “The LORD has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.” God rules over all. His kingdom is both in heaven and here on earth. It encompasses both realms in equal authority and in equal sovereignty. By reflecting on class readings and discussions, it is possible for me to write my understandings of the Kingdom of God, those things that I do not understand, how I am wrestling with them, and what the pressing needs are in the world and the Kingdom of God today.…

In the vast study of philosophy, a particular question has baffled even the most intelligent minds. This question is, “Does God exist?” Philosophers have considered the answer to this question for centuries, each coming up with their own argument and reasons behind their thinking. A platform of debate often used is Antony Flew’s parable of the two explorers, who find a garden so beautiful, that one of the explorers is positive that there must be a gardener tending to it, even if he can’t be detected in any way. The other explorer is not so easily convinced that a gardener exists at all.…

The Love of God God is the creator of all life and he is the highest of all powers, he embodies all ‘persons’ (The Father, The Son, and The Spirit). Although we cannot be as him, we should try to follow his guidance. In this world, it is easy to get wrapped in earthly things. We are humans, and many of times we fail by trying to hold a certain status, gain certain materialistic possessions, and cause great emotional/physical harm to one another. In my beliefs, that is not the way one should live.…
