Personal Narrative: Restoration Of The Holy Spirit

That night I met the pastor and one of the elders from the deliverance team at her home. We had previously set up a time to meet with the deliverance team things were hectic for most of them everyone could not meet that night. The pastor stepped out of the room for a minute and the elder began to pray for me. As he began praying about my childhood, curses, soul ties and other things something broke inside me and I started crying like a baby and did not stop until I was empty, so to speak. The pastor was back in the room at that point she began to pray and talk to me about what she was doing and what she was going to do. Not to take it personal when she said devil, demon or filthy spirit it was to speak to the spirits that manifest themselves to call them out.
She read a scripture from the bible saying while we are praying tell us what you are experiencing. As they were

Praying for the Lord to grant restoration of that Holy Ghost fire like it used to be burning in me. At that moment I began to feel the quickening of the Holy Spirit in the pit of my stomach and the fire again as it used to be when the Lord would move by his spirit in me. Standing up I began to praise God for his delivering power and restoration of the Holy Ghost fire in me. The Pastor and elder shouted praise him sister you are free and they praised God with me. Shouting hallelujah I jumped up and down because I don’t know how to dance in the spirit yet! Shouting I feel the fire shut up in my bone. The deliverance team just didn’t know how happy and grateful I was to be free and feel the Holy Spirit burning in me again. It was about an hour and a half maybe two hours that time had elapsed in the process. Thankful to God, I didn’t care how long it took I was happy, I was clean and free and expressed my gratitude to the Pastor and elder for laboring so diligently with me for my breakthrough and

Part One- What were the circumstances surrounding your servant evangelism encounters? I was on an EMS call to a scene of a paraplegic man who wanted to be transported to the hospital to look at a sore that he had. When I arrived on the scene the patient was found lying on the floor shaking because he was so high on drugs. There was drug paraphernalia all over his house and the patient admitted to being on crystal meth at the time that I was there.…

Give examples of how the practice of ministry has affected your experience and understanding of A) God At the core of my understanding of God is a God of love in covenantal relationship with God’s children. Romans 8:38-39 says it well; “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The practice of ministry has only proven to strengthen that belief. I was called early Saturday morning to sit with a family who had just learned of the death of their daughter/granddaughter in a vehicle accident.…

I got what I came for and left. As I was walking out the door, I heard the Lord saying, look up at the window. When I looked up, I saw a baby playing in the window, all I could see was his hands and head where he was pulling his up, I said to myself, I pray the baby is not trying to climb out of the window. I yelled up to the baby; I told him not to play in the window to go back; the baby lost his balance and flip over. As the baby was falling seem like it was in slow motion I was just standing there watching the baby fall once he hit…

At my most vulnerable, I was having to fill the role of teacher and leader, teaching people how to walk with others through a difficult situation. I learned how important it is to be authentic. I had to let them be part of the grieving and healing process, showing weakness, strength, and reliance on God. My prayer is that God used this journey as an example for others, that they would see our source of strength and hope, that life could again be filled with joy, and most importantly that they would see Jesus through…

“Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat.” George W. (Angel)ine The day Angeline came into my life I didn’t expect for her to change it. One day in mid-December my mom, my brother, Angeline and I were sitting in Angeline’s living room. We were there for somewhat of a prayer visit, to talk with and help each other through God with problems we may need a third-party perspective on. I was silent most of the time because I wasn’t used to or particularly interested in being there.…

Leadership on the line by Ronald A. Heifetz and Marty Linksys is a very timely book. Maggie’s description of her Indian community and the effects of alcohol made me think of many urban communities and the pain that lurks in those communities. The stories she shares about Lois and the heart she had for her community and desire to make it better make you think we need more leaders like that. Lois leadership inspired me because she saw something wrong in her community she believed she could bring change. Lois is a good picture of servanthood she doesn’t sit and think someone should so something…

On August 26, 2005, I gave my life to Christ, and it was the start of a whole new chapter of my journey. I still remember that night vividly in my head. The feelings of excitement, joy, and love were very tangible in my heart. My mom and dad were both sitting beside me on my bed while I was told the importance of this decision and how my life would never be the same. Even at 5 years old, I was aware of my decision to follow Jesus and accept him into my heart.…

All through my childhood, I heard about Jesus and I remember being about four years old when my mother knelt beside me as I prayed the “sinners prayer” and asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. I cannot say that it was the most powerful moment of my life; yet it was very significant start to my spiritual journey. This journey has allowed me to see the Holy Spirit bring Jesus alive in my life, call me into ministry, show me the works of the Holy Spirit, and become the voice that leads me every day. First of all, I was your average churched kid, creating as much mischief as the next little boy. Thanks be to God that I had a praying mother who kept me in church and showed me the value of scripture and prayer in daily life.…
