After my long two-day, annoying flight I finally made it to VA with a warm welcome from Jimmy and his father. As we were riding in the car I could hear Jimmy and his father speak Tagalog, a language used in the Filipino culture. I have known Jimmy for most of my life, and until this day I still find it hard to understand and comprehend Tagalog. In my family during the holidays or during other events we typically speak English, although some of my family members are bilingual. They are very affectionate people who love to hug, kiss, and touch, but they also enjoy interacting with one another. One of Jimmy’s family interests whenever they have family parties, is whipping out the karaoke machine and singing Celine Dion tunes all night. Though they carry on tunes from other greats besides Celine Dion, it was amazing to see how all Thanksgiving they interacted with one another. In my family we would only interact with one another during Thanksgiving if we were playing UNO or spades, besides that we would just lay around watching TV or sleeping after indulging in
