My Spiritual Gifts

Improved Essays
This is a self reflection paper, and my goal in writing it is to hopefully learn more about myself and the potential spiritual gifts I may have. Admittedly, starting this paper has been a challenge. I am at that stage in life most teenagers go through where they struggle to understand themselves and the purpose God has for them. Right now I do not know what my spiritual gifts are or my “kingdom purpose”, but I am excited to find out.
When I first read over the list of spiritual gifts in S.H.A.P.E I felt equally interested and drawn to every gift mentioned there. So I decided to start backwards. After spending a few days praying and really considering each spiritual gift, I was able to rule a few out. Spiritual gifts I definitely do not have are prophecy, miracles, tongues, and evangelism. Those gifts I felt least interested in and after praying about them, I realized I’d never seen them acting in my life. A spiritual gift I discovered I do have is the gift

Though I do feel God working in my life and guiding my steps, I do not presently feel called to be anything other than a student. The lord definitely led me here to SEU, but what he has in store for me after college is still a great mystery. Even career wise, I’m metaphorically in the dark. Though living this way can feel very nerve wracking, I’m excited to see what God has planned for me in the future. Anything could happen at any moment and that’s a thrilling prospect. Furthermore, until God reveals what he has planned I’m going to be the best student I can be to bring glory to him. If I were to take some time to guess about my kingdom purpose, I would figure it to be something that involves my natural giving abilities. Maybe I will one day run a soup kitchen or open a charity organization. I could manage finances in a church, or just continue to donate my belongings to those less fortunate for the rest of my

“Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat.” George W. The worldview philosophy I most closely identify with is cathartic (psychological) transformation and empowerment. I believe the influencers that have caused me to seek authoritative careers and embark on achievements beyond limitations to validate my worth were my absent parents. I’ve experienced a lot of personal distress as a child growing up with the feeling of abandonment, insecurity and neglect. I felt my love ones had no logical reasoning for allowing me to grow into an adult feeling these type damaging emotions and cognitive illusions. According to Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.”…

As a Christian, I try my best to glorify God in everything I do. I believe that God has set a certain purpose and will for everyone, and it is a Christian’s duty to play their own fair part in accordance with his will. When it came down to deciding what my career path will be and goals that I have set to achieve later on in life, I struggled; not necessarily with what I wanted my career to be, but with the plans I had in mind versus what God's plan had in store for me. With God's plan, I believe that Palm Beach Atlantic is the best University to affiliate my career path with my faith. I want to go to a faith-based university because I want to continue achieving my career goals with a faith-based education and environment.…

Any rich story weaves in symbolism and foreshadowing. This enhances the meaning of the narrative, gives the audience clues to the future, and sets the stage for multiple themes. The drama of the Bible checks all of these boxes and then some. Although there are many characters in the first formative years of Israel’s existence, the character of Joshua, leads Israel into a temporary Promised Land, which foreshadows the role that Jesus plays in the unfolding narrative. Joshua was critical to the establishment of Israel as their own country, leading them to a land to call their own.…

My purpose in life is to serve others. My mother says this began at birth because I was such an easy baby so she could take care of my hyperactive and autistic brother; she says it is just naturally who I am, and I agree. This is the reason I chose to attend high school at St. Joseph’s Academy whose motto is “Not I, But We,” and whose mission includes “serving the dear neighbor without distinction.” This is also the reason I chose to attend a Jesuit University for my undergraduate career, as its mission incorporates making “decisions in the light of what is truly for… the service of those in need” as well as forming “men and women for others.” These ideals are my ideals, and I believe that this is what draws me to be an Occupational Therapist…

The survey presented these areas of my personality in such a way that I had never previously thought. Our assignment calls for describing in detail how we use or plan to use these strengths in our life. The initial strength, Belief is a powerful focus point for me.…

Graduation hallmarks a time of genuine but, scholastic reflection of dynamic memories, while personal goals dictate achievements, spiritual growth, and a legacy left for younger generations to follow. Shorter University fosters the opportunity to receive a Christ-centered education while allowing students to remain focused on pursuing their relationship with God. As an exuberant high-school senior, I reside with my mother, younger sister, and my troublesome pet cat, Cally, and I enjoy working part-time at Marco’s Pizza. My arduous pursuits consist of playing the clarinet, writing poetry, learning the art of the French language, and volunteering throughout the community. Apart from earning a degree in accounting at Shorter University, my personal goals, that I will accomplish by graduation, range not only - from harnessing a deeper relationship with God as I continue to fulfill his call to share the gospel - but also, to developing new, yet immutable friendships, while cultivating my greatest contribution: my desire to publish my writing to glorify God.…

A key question that should be answered is, “What is the goal of the spiritual development plan?” In order to develop a healthy plan, the person’s motive must be pure. The goal should not to be a better person or for any self-piety; rather, it should be done to seek God alone. Robert Mulholland, Jr. states that spiritual formation is “the process of growth from a false identity as a pervasively self-referenced being to the true identity of a pervasively God-referenced being” (p. 221).…
