SELF-REFLECTION

“All things are possible. Who you are is limited by who you think you are.” This is one of the quote or proverb translated from Ancient Egypt’s Book of the Dead. And this is one of the quotes that I try to remember every single day, every time I doubt myself that I can’t accomplish anything. This quote helped me opened my mind to all new experiences and life lessons. And this quote helped me get out of my comfort zone. I am an introvert. I hate working with other people especially if my grade is on the line. After learning that I needed to work with different people in my art class terrified me. After Professor Fischer announced that, I was screaming on the inside and wanted to just run

But the only thing that made me not do it is learning that I’ll be able to work on one of the topics that I really love, Ancient Egypt. I then realized that if I really dropped the class, I wouldn’t be able to work with 4 very creative and intelligent people. I wouldn’t be able to enjoy having a group of classmates that I can share my passion with. And I wouldn’t learn that working with other people is not too bad at all. The one thing that I find common within our group is the shared interest in Ancient Egypt. We were all very dedicated to be able to show the entire class how unique, amazing, rich, and important the Ancient Egyptian Culture is. I was lucky to have worked with a group of individuals who was able to share their opinions and knowledges about this topic. We used all our resources, our opinions, and our brains, and sure enough, we were able to create what I think is an amazing Art Canon …show more content…

There are many ways that a person can tell you that works to become a better thinker, but it starts within you. While writing papers this fall semester, I learned that my writing became better when I a. understood what was being asked of me via the criteria, b. allowed myself to make mistakes in order to understand what I was and wasn 't doing correctly, c. I started to question myself, not in a way of was the work too hard, but in the sense of what the assignment and the thesis I am creating is asking. At this stage, you have to be completely real…

First, what worked well was how our group integrated our individual skills together to complete the project. When we introduced ourselves and what our concentrations were, it was easy to determine what roles and responsibilities we would take on. We worked individually on our tasks before meeting together and integrating everything into the final product. The problems that arose primarily concerned communication and scheduling group meetings.…

We formed the group of four people promptly and waited for the topic to be assigned. The topic was assigned in week 9, while in other courses we knew all our topics for group assignments from week 3. Not only the topic for group project was assigned late, but I never had a chance to see the marking rubric and, therefore, to know the instructor’s expectations about my work. Despite the tight deadlines, our group equally divided the workload among four people and started to research the literature about the topic.…

Weekly Self S.O.A.P - A. S- Discuss your SUBJECTIVE feelings for this week: I rather enjoyed myself this week. It was nice to take a break from med surg and shadow a team leader for a few hours. I observed how the ICU team leader, Kalang handled the stress of understaff nursing and seeing how she organized the day’s schedule. I observed the meeting in the morning with all management from the units to see how they were handling staffing issues and what they could do to help when one unit has difficulties.…

My life began to spiral downward before fifth grade began. I found myself an endless loop over summer vacation of waking up, experiencing the day as a blur, sleep, then repeat. This drove me to discover a new way to spend my day. On the television I noticed a recurring advertisement for a game called ‘World of Warcraft’. At first I instilled the mindset that I could spend my time pragmatically but eventually I succumbed to boredom.…

In many classrooms across America today, race and ethnicity are very much on the table. Teachers dream of seeing their students discuss difference in a constructive way. Some educators actively encourage their classes to get outside their comfort zones and confront the country’s racial history, but I ask myself after reading McIntosh’s Interactive Phases of Curricular and Personal Re-Vision Model, how much was race and ethnicity practice in the classroom long ago when I was in elementary. I can remember when I was in 10th grade my history teacher showed the movie of “Roots” for a project in the month of February. Of course, if you have ever seen the movie “Roots”, it is a very long movie broken into 4 parts.…

I first became interested in counseling when I was helping a friend with serious drug related problems and family problems seek help and counsel from advisors. Being just sixteen, I didn’t know how to help him efficiently and felt both powerless and helpless at trying to find adequate resources and services to help him deal with his problems. While I did eventually find counseling services and potential help for him, the effects of his psychological problems were so brutal that he committed suicide. This profound experience of losing a close friend to suicide forced me to develop a strong interest into understanding the role, guidance and motivations that leads people to such extremes. At this point, I had already cultivated the desire to…

Self reflection is the mental process that acquires knowledge and understanding through thoughts and experience which helps encourage self awareness. This essay focuses on assessing my objectives and how I have developed my skills from the beginning of this semester until now. At the start of semester A, I wasn’t confident in preparing for the skills sessions and workshops. I wasn 't always able to find the correct answers to the workshop questions set which made it relatively difficult for me to participate in lectures despite finding myself at the library every other day. I began by listening to knowledge based lectures online and making notes alongside the recommended reading given by my lecturers or the module guide.…
