Throughout my whole life, I grew up in a Christian home with a loving and supportive family that pushed me to know God better. I genuinely accepted Christ into my life at a young age and have enjoyed serving and reading my bible and learning about God. Coming to college, my first semester was honestly the loneliest time in my life. I had all these expectations of what I thought would happen when I got to college- getting community, having a relationship, getting involved- and it just wasn’t happening. I was in community group at Grace Bible Church but didn’t really have friends and didn’t feel involved. Most recently, I got to spend 3 weeks in Africa, which in just planning and go and finishing through with was a big growing experience. I went on my own never really having flown before and not knowing anyone there. The …show more content…

As the result of living in a broken world full of broken, sinful people, life is sure to be messy, to be full of more brokenness. While counseling alone could help individuals work through what they are going through or cope with their situation in life, biblical training that gives the ability to point people to the ultimate solution, Jesus Christ, is invaluable. DTS would equip me to serve children and families by pointing them to the one who can provide healing and mend their

The study of Salvationist theology is called soteriology. Romans 3:23 says “for all have send and fall short of the glory of God” which means that we all have to be saved and ask God for pen for forgiveness for our sands because we have all sinned. My life before my conversion consisted mainly of growing up in a Southern Baptist Church. Throughout my life I have heard the gospel countless times, but never accepted it as absolute truth to follow. Instead, my life until college was characterized by performing a lot of religious activity such as youth groups, church camps, and going to church on Sundays. I was in a tireless attempt to live out a religion that proved I was good enough to be declared righteous before God. It was a restless attempt to be whatever everyone else want me to be.…

Even at 5 years old, I was aware of my decision to follow Jesus and accept him into my heart.…
