Typically ramadan is celebrated within the ninth month of the year. During ramadan, muslims must fast from sun-up to sun-down, withstanding at least 16 hours without food or water. Fasting can last from 16 hours to 22 hours, depending on your location. There are also certain health behaviors associated with ramadan, including eating the most expensive and luxurious meals, donating food to charity, getting adequate rest, staying hydrated, and exercising lightly. In addition to altering health behaviors, individuals are also encouraged to expand their faith through the reading of the Quran or making prayer a priority. Ramadan could be the reason for the high population of muslims at the Zhur prayer service. The Zhur prayer service is described as the prayer to Allah right after the zenith of the sun. Christianity and Islam are among the most popular monothetic religions of the world. They have the common belief that there is only one God. Aside from that, the practice of the religions are similar, including sermons held in sacred spaces, dresswear in that sacred space, and the belief of being a better person. Among the differences include the Islamic view of praying towards mecca, the prayer rituals, their individual myths and beliefs, and the views in the media. I am thankful for the experience to witness these similarities and differences for myself. I enjoyed my time at the mosque and plan on attending another service
