My Experience In Gym Class

Improved Essays
I have had an overall excellent experience in gym class this past semester. Over the past few months, I feel I have achieved a lot and achieved personal goals through time and perseverance. I feel I have improved dramatically in multiple aspects of my personal fitness and overall health. I really enjoyed the fitness days that, not only helped me stay physically active, but also cope with stress from other classes. Personally, I think that I have improved quite a lot this past semester and learned important life skills. This class was a great chance to get to meet new people and make new friendships. It was a great experience getting to meet new and interesting people through team sports and group activities. I had the chance to step out of my comfort zone and to talk and make new friendships with my peers. I have made many new and unlikely friendships with people I may have never gotten the chance to know. Looking back on the first few weeks of school, I can really see how much we have come together and gotten to know each other. I am so glad I have had the chance to get to know more of my peers, personally. …show more content…
Throughout the past few months, I have seen a dramatic change in my personal fitness levels. I have improved greatly in the sports I play outside of school and have noticed myself running faster and not getting tired as easily. I think this improvement is mainly because of my opportunity to stay active every day. Through activities like our warm-ups, jogging, and other sports and activities. This improvement has encouraged me to better myself and start working on my personal fitness outside of school. Not only did this class improve my fitness but also my attitude towards healthy choices and what choices to make. Specifically my choices about healthy eating. It opened my eyes to what is actually in the food that I eat and what it is doing to my

Section One: Behavior Change Plan Assignment Part One: The key behavior that I wish to change to improve my health is to eat more healthy. This doesn't just include cutting out junk food or eating more vegetables, for me this also includes actually remembering to eat. I have a bad habit of forgetting to eat when I am really busy with schoolwork or stressing out over mundane problems. The reason I am choosing to highlight this behavior is because since this quarter I am taking more classes than I normally do which means I get so busy with homework that sometimes I don’t eat anything more than some toast in the morning or a few oranges during a study break.…

Changing food at Liberty High School Parents of Liberty High School students, do you wish for your children to live long happy lives? Those of you who said no should not be parents; however, those who said yes please consider the facts. Obesity in the United States is one of the most widespread health issues we have and it is becoming especially prevalent in child and teenage populations. Obesity causes a wide range of health problems, from a lack of energy to just plain death from cholesterol blocking your heart valves. Of course we alone cannot solve the issue on the national scale, but we do have the power to keep it from becoming an issue at our school.…

The first time, I enrolled in this class, I felt excited knowing this class would help on my grammar, so I can become a better writer. My first thought that cross my mind was this was going to be easy and it was. My last experienced with writing and English was okay because I mainly get a B or a C, but rarely I would get an A. I always been having trouble with grammars. My high school English teachers taught us about grammars and how to become a better writer. It was similar to what you had taught us in class because we always learned about grammar out of a book and we got tested after we been practice.…

It was the beginning of high school, the start of a new chapter in my life; after coming into the school, the mall looked like the feeding of the five thousand. St. Thomas More has over a thousand students, and every single one was there on that first day, trying to find the way to their new classes just like me. Walking through the halls of St. Thomas More with the unfamiliar smell of the classrooms reminded me of what lies ahead. I thought it was going to be difficult, because I wouldn’t see anyone I know. Fortunately, some of my old friends from St. Pius were in my gym class, so I was glad that I would not be alone in gym class.…

According to Truglio-Londrigan and Lewenson one strategy the public health nurse utilizes is outreach, “locating populations at risk and providing information about the nature of the concern” (2013, p.225). The population at risk is the children and the concern is their unhealthy food choices and inactivity. My proposal is to engage students after school in a physical activity and afterward introduce them to a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables for a snack. People don’t focus on the fact that they are “exercising” when they are having fun. It would be important to expose the kids to a variety of physical activities to increase their participation with anticipation of what activity is in store for the afternoon.…

The article addresses the very prevalent health problem of childhood obesity. Childhood obesity has become a focus of many public health interventions. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners have created guidelines related to the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity. Many public health initiatives have been designed to address the problem, such as the Child and Adolescent Trial of Cardiovascular Health (CATCH). While there are public health initiatives designed to address childhood obesity, rates reveal that there are health disparities between children of migrant farmworkers and other populations.…

Most of the time, when we hear the word “gym”, we associate that word with exercising, getting in shape, lifting weights, losing weight, or staying healthy. We think of that because that is the main purpose of a gym. The standard norm of any gym is to exercise and stay healthy. The majority of the people who goes to the gym usually wear clothes specifically for the gym that are more comfortable and allow them to do movements which with regular casual clothes would be more difficult to do. We also assume that the people that go to the gym frequently follow a healthy diet to get in shape, stay in shape, or lose weight.…

I found this to be beneficial because I am controlling what goes into my body; I am losing weight, which means I am getting closer to my goal. When it comes to applying what I have learnt in this class, I will definitely carry on eating moderate meals 4-6 times in a day and continue snacking. And I will continue with what I have learnt because it is going to help me in the long term and I will be able to achieve my goals and gain confidence, which is something I never really had in the past as in the past I felt that I was too big and my friends had better bodies than be therefore this class showed me something I never saw before: losing weight the right way, eating health for the long-term purposes and overall juice eating right within my calorie…

In the locker room are Dan and Jason. I say hello and continue on to my locker. More people come in and everyone starts talking about how bad their day was. It's almost a daily contest to see who can have bragging rights for having the worst day, perhaps they want sympathy or maybe they just like to complain a lot. I find it humorous that a bunch of guys who come in every day to train and beat on each other can complain so much, so I laugh at them and leave the locker room.…
