Reflection On Aca 115

ACA Reflection In the process of preparing for college, I was equipped with little information on the development of who I am and how I learn best in school. Although this lack of personal knowledge existed in the beginning of my high school career, it did not occur forever. ACA 115 opened new realms of understanding that came with being a student, allowing for me to learn new things about myself and the way that I acquire skills of a subject. Over the course of 18 weeks in ACA 115, I learned how to use skills that I have developed as person, in order to better my education and balance work with life. The things that motivate me include; Achievement, Independence, Self-Expression, Variety, and Relationships. As far as achievement, I would say that I do focus quite a bit on doing the best that I can’t and succeeding at that. Independence to me is a motivator because it pushes me to do what I am most comfortable with, which is often working alone. As someone who is very intact with self discovery and expressing those things, self-expression is most definitely a motivator for me as a student. I feel that explaining yourself and sharing in your own words is very important. In high school, and even as an American, variety is a very prominent factor that exists amongst me. To me variety is of great significance when it comes to work and just being aware of the differences among people. Overall, I would say that relationships is my most important motivator. Every day I interact with people and communicate in a social manner. Although independence exists as a motivator, I do greatly value connecting with other people and relating with them. Relations can impact lives dramatically and are a vital component in the health and wellbeing of people. Whenever I completed the exercises for Chapter 12, I found out the things that I value the most and things that motivate me in every day life. With the top five motivators that I have, I was surprised that independence showed up. Although I do like to work alone, independence has never been considered a motivator for me. These motivators are stimulations for getting me to do or not to do something. My motivators can influence the decisions I do or do not make. For example, if I’m being pressured into doing something illegal I can consider how it would affect my achievement in the future.
