Personal Observation

During our 2 weeks of teaching our lessons I was able to observe 7 different activities and games. Some of the activities that I was able to experience and observe were practicing balance, baseball or striking skills, badminton, volleyball, tennis, soccer, and dancing. All the activities were different, although some of the activities were similar on the skills we are practicing or learning, but all were unique in their own way. Starting with the balance activity with Jaelyn and Allie the overall activity was very interesting. I never had the chance to experience or participate in a strict balance activity, meaning I never done an activity that focused mainly on my balancing skills. Alaura and Lexi were very creative and unique with the activities that were presented to us. For example my favorite was trying to hit the volleyball into the hula-hoop or on a poly-circle. This allowed me to practice form and control, but yet have a target to hit. In the activity we were able to challenge a partner on who can get the most points and it is a fun activity and I think third graders would benefit from this activity. One thing I would change in the activity are using softer volleyballs. Although, practicing with a volleyball is important, I think for some third graders it may hurt there wrist or hand, especially if they have not perfected the form, but overall great and unique activity that I would definitely implement into a P.E. …show more content…
This activity was very creative and the most fun I had doing a dance lesson for a while. The student teachers were very friendly and fit the role of fourth grade instructors. They were very professional and helpful. One thing I like is that they set us up in a way that we can mimic them and that they can watch us. Jillian and Marisol instructed us throughout the whole steps and moves, it made it easy to follow the progression of the dance. They had a positive attitude even when we felt embarrassed or afraid we were doing the moves wrong. There is not much I would change in the activity itself, but when someone is doing the moves incorrectly or not participating as much as the other students, I would stand near that student so that they can follow me and I can focus on that student. Another strategy is placing that student around students who have mastered the steps, so that those students can help the student who is

I witnessed a lot more boys joining in physical play, as the kids went out to lunch this one little boy ran to some bars and started hanging on them upside down. Others watched in amazement and attempted to do the same only to be disappointed because they were unable to perform as well as the other child. One activity that really caught my attention was a dancing activity. After lunch, the teacher projected some music and…

Consequently, less papers to grade, more one on one time with students, fewer daily lessons to plan, and double the prep time per day. The 90 minute advisement period would also be a stress to teachers as they have to watch students the entire time. A 20-30 minute advisement period is more reasonable and can be implemented in any schedule type. Less stress on teachers would result in a positive and healthy learning environment for…

Many steps must be considered when creating and preparing an activity plan. Specifically, there is the preplanning stage, activity beginning stage, activity middle stage, and activity closing stage. It is significant to include all of the points within your activity plan to effectively teach a lesson. The teacher must prepare the students for the activity and allow the students to understand what the central ideas of the lesson are. I had the opportunity to use an activity plan with students in the classroom, which allowed me to gain experience with second graders.…

In the prior units students learned about spatial awareness, levels, locomotor movement (running, jogging, walking, & different directions). In this lesson students will be learning the different pathways such as zigzag, straight, and curve. In the article “How do you learn to walk? Thousands of steps and dozens of falls per day”, experimental research was done to find an answer to how infants learn to walk. Previous research was conducted on this topic, but it did not show anything about how much or how far infants walk, how often they fall, what makes them continue walking after falling, and how these abilities change with development. Researchers have simply focused on the structure of postures from a crawling to an upright walking position and the regular steps of infants on open grounds where they have to use natural locomotion, or the natural ability to move. This process is known as periodic gait.…

The formation of dance has lived on this world for many generations as we continue to pass through history. When I went to the wonderful performance at Pierce College I experienced a whole new perspective on dancing. The concert had many types of students performing mixed dance projects of all types like solos and duets. There was an average size of one to eight dancers per project which made it the ideal size for the concert. I really enjoyed the creativity and effort put into this performance.…

As you can see, my classroom has a lot of space around the desks. I picked this deign because it is very easy for the whole group of students to see the teacher and the front of the room where the whiteboard is. Having space around the desks also allows to form different shapes for different activities. A shape I could switch the desks to would be a “U-shape”. The horseshoe shaped desks allows the teacher to walk around to each students individually if help is needed.…
