Language Analysis Essay On Drinking And Driving

Over the course of this semester I’ve grown as a writer in many ways but also continued to use and improve on techniques that I acquired from the past. In the language analysis that we did in the beginning of the semester, I described how the use of facial expressions can act as a type of language when interacting among others. For this paper, I started paying more attention to people’s expressions and started making a connection between the emotion they were portraying and the expression on their face. For the rhetorical analysis, I analyzed two different print media ads involving drinking and driving and the consequences that come with both. During this writing process I noticed myself paying more attention to the warning signs for life and seeing more facts about death and situations that can be avoided. We were assigned the rhetorical analysis paper which included the description of two different advertisements. These advertisements had to be rhetorically analyzed and connected the audience so the ads would catch their attention. I analyzed two different drinking and driving ads because I felt drinking and driving is a serious issue that is becoming more popular with deaths and it needed to be addressed. This paper like the language analysis paper also went very well in terms of writing and making the outline. Using rhetoric in a paper hasn’t been an issue for me ever since high school, I just understand each one and can usually point them out of any type of ad. When I finished the paper I felt I described each advertisement well in terms of logos, pathos, and ethos. The paper felt done until I seen the revisions I needed to make. After Dr. Burkey graded my paper it was a little below average but with the revisions made I feel I bumped my grade and the paper up a decent
