A couple things I would change are how I plan out developing the speech and how much to practice it. For developing the speech, I need to be sure of what exactly I want to talk about at the interview. I felt that my questions were interesting, but a couple were somewhat unneeded. However, I came to the conclusion that it is better to have too much than not enough for an interview because I had enough information to work with. Also, I should have taken more time to thoroughly practice my speech out loud in front of others. I was difficult to try to find time that week to practice, but that is my responsibility to make time. It was so enjoyable because they gave their speeches on unique experiences that most of us haven’t gone through yet, or never will. The first speech that stood out to me was done by Tony. His speech was about what it is like to be a surgical nurse. My favorite part of the speech was the story of the older lady who didn’t realize her husband was already in surgery. The story was funny, but revealed a side to the nursing profession of sometimes it’s best to let things go. Another speech that I enjoyed listening to was Maddi Mulgrew’s. I found the topic itself to be something great because her grandmother was able to provide insight on what life was like in the 1950s compared to now. The dress code struck me as interesting because of the skirt requirement in contrast to how now girls can wear shorts and pants. Lastly, Kim’s speech gave me a perspective on what it is like to have a large family. Not many people my age know what that would be like since most of us have only a couple siblings. I could tell that her speech was honest and that made it wonderful to listen
