I hope to be able to transmit this new information to enlighten close friends and family so they too can better understand the many viewpoints on sexuality.
My responds to the sexual ideology introduction survey were grounded on my personal feelings on sexuality, my sexual behavior, and relationships. When asked how sexuality impacted my personal view I responded with, “Sexuality makes me feel self-conscious…” What this revealed is that I feel insecurities although my physique and sexual category are considered normal. One of the most memorable topics on sexuality was on children born outside of the typical female and male genders. One topic I was stunned by was on how misinformed I and others are on the proper terminology for a women’s genital area. I did not expect to learn basic information on my body at twenty five years of age. I also benefited from learning of satisfaction through different sexual responses. There are many differences between the types of orgasms and responses between male and female that I was unaware of. This information can personally benefit my partner’s and I romantic relationship. Learning the stages of orgasms, ejaculation, and the refractory period also educates us on the health effects and some of its benefits. I could also profit from knowledge on female sexual response and what triggers most sexual arousal. Practicing different types of stimulation to please one another could also keep our relationship from becoming ritualized. Practicing sex in different positions, places, and times can bring variety into the relationship as Bruce King states (p. 285). Continuing this pattern, can ensure that our sexual relationship remains active and ongoing even during our older years, when sexuality is presumed to
