After completing the “how healthy are you” assessment I’ve learned that there are various health components other than physical health that are vital in order to live a healthy lifestyle.
After calculating my scores from the assessment the results were as follows: I scored outstanding in social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and personal health, however, an average in physical health and very poorly in environmental health. Overall, I believe my scores are very accurate. For starters, on physical health I scored a mark of 13/20. I received this score because; I’m not that active on a daily basis. As we all know, there’s always room for improvement in life, that being said, this test has helped me better understand the health areas that require additional improvement, for example, my physical, psychological and environmental health.
Physical health is critical for overall well-being and is the most visible of the various dimensions of health (Education Portal, 2014). Although, my body fat and weight is normal according to my age and height, however, I still need to improve the overall appearance of my body. Even at work when you suppose to recycle the paper i usually crumple the paper and try to shoot into random bins. Now that i see due to these bad habits i am lacking in this area I would surely put an effort to improve and make a good difference in the environment we are living in. I will use the 3Rs program (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) outlined by Environment Canada to help reduce waste (Government of Canada, 2013). I will educate myself and, my family members, on this program by reducing and reusing materials and packaging wherever possible so we can effectively contribute to the environment. Although i still feel that the government makes no-point environmental policies just to make money. For example, a car emmision test, why do a new car needs an emmsion test coming right from factory? Why aren 't more electrical cars on road if we really care about the environment? At the end of the day money is put ahead of the environtment by the government, maufacturers etc which influences me in a negative way and affects my

Many people see health in different ways, this essay will look at two concepts of health, the biomedical and the social medical, and evaluate them. This will try to give a more rounded look at the approaches, the problems they can show and the things that are not taken into consideration. To be able to do this we first need to be able to define what ‘health’ is. This term can be described in many ways; the English dictionary defines health as “the general condition of the body or mind with reference to soundness and vigour:” (oxford English dictionary……….). This is a vague definition to an overall understanding of what people believe to be healthy.…
