I find that it is very interesting and smart for the environmentalist to influence policies through lobbying. The rest of her ideas are very similar with mine, except she did not give specific solution on how the government will implement the regulation and what technical way the farmers will do to reduce water consumption. Another article I found from a website called Corporate Education Group mentioned that there are 8 tactics to deal with stakeholders, which includes demonstrate competence, buffer from the team, advocate for those who cannot, ensure traceability of agreements, make sure there is a structure to engage, make visible lost time due to delayed responses, encourage delegation of authority if possible, and look for informal settings to access busy stakeholders (Cooper, B, 8). Moreover, I found videos in YouTube made by Jennifer Whitt, the director of projectmanager.com, and I feel she would be a great guest speaker in the course as one of her videos is explaining about how to manage stakeholders’ expectation and it is relevant to improve this course because she mentioned that to prevent confusion between stakeholders, the project manager should document the stakeholders, know all of the stakeholders, regularly inform the team, setup/enforce process, provide status, touch base regularly and ask questions when unclear, and dispel myths (Whitt, J, 2013).
