What is reflection? That was the first question that popped into my head the first time we had to write a cover letter for the Fighting the Monster paper. The art of reflecting on ones thoughts or their means of writing is rather difficult. As I took on the first reflection, I struggled on trying to make it coherent and not just about how I viewed the project. I wanted to go deeper into why and how I felt when I wrote it. Eventually, I got the hang of it and ended up writing a good reflection so when we were assigned this final reflection on the class, I knew how I would go about it and what I would struggle with. The fighting the monster taught me to really use the evidence and research I found. I actually applied the quotes and statistics that I had found instead of just finding them to fulfill a requirement of quotes that I needed within the paper. I really benefitted from this paper due to the fact that I actually learned how to apply the research I needed to strengthen my argument. We worked toward this paper a lot during class; with the in class peer revisions and the out side meetings with our groups. The individual meetings allowed me to understand the revision process. You got to see every aspect of your paper from a different view. Such as, the doubter and the optimist. With these different positions we really understood the parts we needed to fix and what we should continue to do in our papers. I was really challenged by this assignment due to the fact that I enjoy structure with my papers and writing. Once I decided on a public service announcement poster I could easily plan and organize all of my thoughts an ideas. I had to create my own structure and layout for my project which is something I have never done so at first I found it rather challenging. However, in the end with the lectures and activities in class I was able to create a PSA poster series that was successful in getting my point across to my specific
