The mission statement was as followed: Knox Elementary School mission is to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to become literate, law-abiding professional contributors to society, through the use of innovative, creative, research-based teaching practices, and a demand for excellence. If I was able to teach the classroom I would be sure to go over the rules at the beginning of the week to let the students know its things they shouldn’t do to their classmates or anyone in the school. In my second day observing the classroom, I could remember this one student who couldn’t seem to behave right or be still. The teacher asked him to be seated he did that he was told but shortly after she sat down he went back to doing what she tasked him not to do again. She called his name and he walked to he, she told him that it’s not goof to ask out in the class and that she knows he’s a very smart student. Shortly they had lunch and once again he didn’t know how to sit still in the line so she pulled him to the side to walk with her being that he couldn’t sit still. The last day I went I could remember this little boy who cried because he couldn’t get the work or understand it one students laughed while another told him it’ll be ok he went to the teacher and explained what had happened and told the student to apologize because every student is smart and that anyone can do it but to not let others stop you from learning. I had begun to smile and tell him it’s ok and that he is somebody and that he is very smart and to keep his head up. The teacher had to

They want their students to be trustworthy, loyal, honest, and have integrity.…

I appreciated the observer noticed: Anne noticed that I have become more confident in my teaching which was something I did not ask her to watch for during her observation. This meant a lot to me that she noticed my growth and the student’s growth. She said the reason why my explanations were so clear was because of my confidence. I have been struggling this semester with having confidence when I teach in tutoring and during practicum. It definitely comes and goes.…

The secretary was calling teachers and asking if Leah and I could observe and the first few teachers said “no.” they mentioned that they were not ready for an observation. It was confusing because the secretary told the teachers that we were intern, then practicum students and finally just observers. While we were waiting I was able to observe that there was one teacher close to the main door entrance. She was greeting everyone that walked through the doors with a “good morning” and a smile.…

Observations: Students were allowed to wear a hat to class if they had paid a dollar. Usually this is not allowed in class. They seemed pretty excited over allowed to wear a hat in the classroom. When the students finally settled in to the classroom, Mrs. Geisheimer gave the students a Do Now. The way she described the assignment was confusing because she told the students to do the right side of the page, but when showing the class the paper, she was pointing to the left side of the page.…

Everyday students are constantly getting in trouble for talking or simply just whispering about an important project. Then there is one, two, and three strikes you’re out just for whispering. Your whole day is ruined, your teacher lectures for five minutes about disobeying the rules in class and on top of that you half to sit at the quiet table. You're just so mad thinking about how the teacher is practically bossing you around at school. If this all sounds familiar, you’ve probably thought about a different system of class rules should be enforced.…

The teacher started talking about herself with a kind voice she said you call me Ms. Jones. It was surprising to me because back in India, teachers did not used to discuss about their personal life at school. I firmly believe that every child learns differently. Some children learn by listening, others learn from peers, some may learn by using a manipulative and others may learn by reading. Whatever a child’s learning style is, I plan on incorporating that into my classroom everyday. I believe that a child needs more positive enforcement in his/her lives then they do negative. They do not need to be constantly put down for the things they have done wrong, rather they should be praised for the things that they have done right.…
