Ms. Sommerfield taught her fifth grade class math, science, spelling, writing, and reading. The fifth graders also went to physical education and art class but with different educators certified in those subjects.

Technology has positive and negative sides towards learning, but personally I have seen technology used more positively then negatively. In Ms. Sommerfield’s classroom there are four black hp computers. Students could use them after certain activities, for example after their math warm-up first thing in the morning they were allowed to use them. The students would use the computers mainly for a math website that generated addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems designed for fifth graders. Some of them were timed, scored, or just for fun. Students loved to see how fast they could go, almost like a timed multiplication test like when I was in fifth grade. The website would also allow them to print out a certificate of completion, which allowed the students to be proud of …show more content…

For example right now they show that yearbooks are for sale, April students of the month, the website for the school report card, PBIS goal for May, websites to check out, important dates for May, and a holiday calendar. The district website link is available through the school website along with emails of the administration, teachers, and other staff. It looks like they are meaning to put a map of where their school is located on the website, but it is not actually on there. On the website there is also a tab for family events, but there is none schedule currently. As you can tell the website needs to be

Technology has had an impact on students education. Anyone who can get on the internet can get access to the same amount of information and materials as everyone else. According to Ethan Bronner, eighth graders who “used computers for complex math had acquired more than one third of an academic year of education” (Bronner, 1998, Para. 5). Fourth graders who “used computers for math games, had a one tenth of an academic year of education increase” (Bronner, 1980, Para. 5). Field Experience Working as a Para educator in the Mt. Pleasant School District had opened my understanding about how important it is the job of a teacher. As I observed Mrs. Ensminger performed her duties, it has confirmed my conviction that a teacher is a teacher because they do not see their duties as a job it is a calling. Mrs. Ensminger, a level 1 special education teacher, is already at school no later than 7:15 am. Before school even starts she is already coordinated with core class teachers what she need to work on every individual student under her care. First period in her class is Science.…

The topics of education and technology have always been a center of debate all over the world. These might seem like two separate topics, but the more technology evolves and advances, the more of an impact it has on education, or to be precise the schooling system. Also, the more effect technology has on our education system and on our everyday lives, the more there’ll be critics that will bash the system we have today and try to bring out every negative impact it has on us. I am very opposed to those types of people such as Ken Robinson and his talk “Changing Education Paradigms,” Neil Postman and his “Of Luddites, Learning, and Life,” and Annie Lowrey’s “The Gap between schooling and education.” I think technology has had mostly positive…

Students’ education has changed over the years and the reason for it is technology. For hundreds of years teachers have used books, paper, and pencils to teach their students, but for the last few years technology has become part of everyone’s life in one way or another. Students and teachers are getting their technology through the classroom and it has impacted student learning. Technology has positively impacted student learning because they have more motivation, self-esteem, are completing complex tasks and help others more, while it has the negative impact of poor work and shorter attention span to tasks. One way is that technology has increased students’ motivation to learn and their self-esteem in what they learned.…
